Milani Hi-Tech

Lately I can't get enough of my holos! Today, I have another from the Milani 3D Holographic collection and one of my favorites, Hi-Tech.

Hi-Tech is a bright, springy green holo. Sigh, it's gorgeous! It has the strongest holo effect out of all the others in the collection. I love it. My pictures had to be slightly color corrected. The originals did not do justice for this polish. It's so much better in person though.

The formula and application were good. It had a few dragging issues but nothing that couldn't be fixed. It was also very fast drying. It was thin so three coats were needed for it to be opaque. Top coat didn't seem to affect it.

Maybe now you can see why Hi-Tech is one of my favorites! It's not only gorgeous but unique too. If you love green and holo, then this polish is for you.

Milani Hi-Res

I've been wanting to to wear a holo but it hasn't always been sunshine here in California. Finally the gloomy, rainy weather is gone and it is now sunny! Normally I usually gravitate toward untried polishes, but I made an exception today with the holo, Milani Hi-Res, which I wore before my blogging days.

Hi-Res is a scattered purple holo from the Milani 3D Holographic collection, which consists of 6 polishes, all of which I own. I love purple so I'm very biased when it comes to Hi-Res. While the holo effect isn't as strong as other holo polishes out there, it's still very evident and gorgeous in the sunlight and indoors. It's much better in person. The best apart about this polish is that it only cost me $4.

The formula was really good. It was thin, easy to control, and fast drying. It can get a little patchy, as some holos do, but it has yet to cause a problem for me. It is sheer but for me, it was good at two coats but I did three just to be sure.

I recommend Hi-Res, as well as the rest of the collection, to anyone who wants a holo that is both gorgeous and affordable. I believe you can still find them at CVS, but if not, they're on the website, Cherry Culture and retail for $3.99.

Pure Ice Private Show (Butter London The Black Knight dupe)

Pure Ice recently released 29 new polishes to their line and there's a lot of glitters in that mix. Just the other day I picked up three of them, one of which I'm showing you today. It's Private Show, a mix of multicolored glitter in a black base.

And yes, Private Show is a Butter London The Black Knight dupe. This is perfect for me because I've been lemming after The Black Knight for a while. I just haven't been able to bring myself to spend $14. However, a $1.97 is very doable.

Formula wise, it's good. Sometimes you get what you pay for, but in this case, you get good quality. I have actually never had a problem with my other Pure Ice polishes. This was two easy coats and two coats of top coat.

I'm really happy with Private Show. It's gorgeous and it doesn't make my wallet sad. I'd suggest picking it up while you can because I'm not sure if it's a permanent color in the Pure Ice line. You can find it at Walmart.

Revlon Girly

Happy Valentine's Day to those who are celebrating! I personally don't have any plans, but I couldn't pass up the chance to do my nails for the occasion.

I've been looking for a good time to wear Revlon Girly and I couldn't think of a better time than today. It's one of the prettiest glitters that I own. It's a light pink jelly with light pink, fuchsia, and darker purple hexagons, and smaller light pink and purple hexagons which are holo. Girly is a super unique polish from Revlon and it reminds me of an indie. It's sheer, so I layered it over OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender which ended up being the perfect underwear.

I did two thin coats of the OPI and then layered two coats of Girly over it. It wasn't as dense as I would have liked on the first coat, but it was perfect after the second. It was thick so it took a while to dry. Two coats of top coat made it smooth.

Girly is amazing, I love it! It might be one of my favorites from Revlon. I'm happy to see them coming out with original polishes. I look forward to seeing what else they have in store. Hope you all have a good day!

Pretty & Polished Jawbreaker

For Christmas, I received indies that I've been wanting for a while now. Pretty & Polished Jawbreaker was one of them. It was one of the first indies that I had a big lemming for, so I'm very excited to have it.

Jawbreaker is a creamy white base loaded with blue, green, yellow, red, and purple glitter in various shapes and sizes. It's also a jelly sandwich without the need for a bunch of layers. I just love looking at it. It perfectly resembles the hard candy that it's named after.

The formula was really good. It wasn't streaky and it didn't give me any problems when applying. It has great glitter payoff but I was hoping for more of the red squares. A third might have given me some but I was happy at two coats.

I absolutely love Jawbreaker! I completely understand the hype surrounding it. I'm incredibly happy to have it in my stash and I recommend it to everyone.

Jawbreaker is available in a full size bottle for $9.
