China Glaze Let's Groove

So sorry about not posting the last few days. My brother's close friend of about 15 years passed away last weekend in a tragic motorcycle accident, so it was a long and slow week. You may also notice that my blog got a facelift. I'm glad the pink theme is gone, since I really love purple. My font is different too. I'm really liking it so far. What do you think?

Anyways, today I have China Glaze Let's Groove. It's a dark purple polish with red, blue, and purple shimmer. It took me a while to get it. It's from the 2009 Retro Diva collection. At CosmoProf last year I saw one random dark purple polish. I assumed it was Stella from the same collection, as it gotten my hopes up many times before, but it was Let's Groove! I couldn't buy it fast enough.

Enough rambling, here are pictures! FYI it's darker and wayyyy better in person.

The shimmer really adds that extra oomph and takes it to the next level. I love that it's dark but it's not dark enough to mistake it as a black polish. It's also a much cheaper dupe of Nars Purple Rain, which makes me love it even more.

The formula was wonderful. It flowed like butter on my nails and I only used two coats for opacity, though some nails needed three. It took a while to dry, but my coats were somewhat on the thick side, so I'm not blaming it.

If you couldn't already tell, I love Let's Groove! It's one of my top favorite purples now. It's a perfect dark purple and well worth the wait too. It's a must have for any purple lover if you ask me.

China Glaze Techno Teal

When the China Glaze Tronica collection was released, I bought a few since I had sadly missed out on OMG and Kaleidoscope. Apparently people were disappointed in it because the polishes weren't as holographic. That may be true, but I think they're beautiful and deserve more love. Today I have one of them to show you. It's Techno Teal, a teal polish with a scattered holographic effect.

All photos were taken without topcoat. As you can you see, the holographic effect is subtle. Personally, I would love for it to be like an OMG or a Kaleidoscope, but it's still beautiful none the less. I love that it's so rich and vibrant.

The formula is really great. It goes on creamy and dries SUPER fast. It was practically dry to the touch a minute later. Opacity wasn't an issue either. I only needed two coats for full coverage. Great formula makes a polish even better.

I love Techno Teal even if it doesn't have a super strong holographic effect. It's gorgeous regardless, as are the other colors. I think the collection is pretty hard to find now, but give them a chance if you can!

Wet N Wild How I Met Your Magenta

Camping was fun, but I'm glad to be back home. I feel out of the majority when I say this, but pink polish isn't close to being my favorite and I hardly ever wear it. But, I can still appreciate a pretty polish when I see it and that's how I feel about Wet N Wild How I Met Your Magenta. It's a jelly bubblegum pink with gold micro shimmer and named after the show, How I Met Your Mother.

I think it's brighter in person, but it's close enough. It's not the most unique color by far, but it's beautiful and it would look amazing on someone with a tan.

The only downside is that it's sheer, but that's expected with a jelly. This is three coats and my nail line is still visible. In this case, I really don't mind. The formula itself wasn't amazing, but not all that bad either. It went on great and dried some what fast, with a little bit of matte finish.

If you love pinks and or don't have something similar, I think it's a good option! It's only a $1.99, but above all, it's pretty. I'm glad I took a chance on it! Maybe I won't hesitate to try more pinks in the future.

I'm backkkkkk!

I feel like the worst blogger ever. I've been gone, for what, two months? One week of depression, turned into two months of laziness and procrastination. I only just bought new polish last week and my nails have remained unpainted during my hiatus. I missed it so much though! Especially blogging and sharing things with all of you, so I'm officially back!

Sadly, my nails are back to being nubs. Some of them broke and it was about time I filed them the same length. Now onto the polish I'll be showing you. It's Sinful Colors Zeus, from their some what new collection, Cast Away. It's a dusty purple with pink shimmer and boy is it beautiful!

It's unique to my stash and it just might be one of new favorite purples.

The formula wasn't too bad either. Not amazing, but not a pain. It's thick but in a good way. Two coats gave me full coverage. My only complaint is that it seemed to take a while to dry. Completely worth it though.

I'm so in love with this color. It's gorgeous, unique, and at a $1.99, the wallet is happy. I'm glad to see Sinful Colors stepping out of the box with colors like this. They should do it more often.

I'm leaving to go camping today, so I won't be back until Sunday. Before I go, I have to give a shout out to my hockey team, The Los Angeles Kings: GO KINGS GO!!! Can't wait until I watch the game tonight! Have a great weekend!
