Candy Lacquer Pretty Little Werewolf

If you don't already know, purple is my favorite color, for both polish and everything else. The mani I have today has tons of it and it also features my favorite indie brand, Candy Lacquer. I couldn't go without wearing at least one of their Halloween polishes this year. Without further ado here is Candy Lacquer Pretty Little Werewolf.

Pretty Little Werewolf was a limited edition glitter topper that has sadly been discontinued for a while but I was able to find my bottle in a blog sale, which seems to be the case for a good portion of my Candy Lacquers. It's a beautiful mix of white, pink, gray, and purple matte, metallic and holographic glitters in shapes which include hexes, moons, diamonds, and stars. I also really like that there's a few different shades of purple and pink and not just one kind.

For my base I used two coats of OPI A Grap Fit, which is without a doubt my most favorite purple creme in my collection. It was absolute perfection and it applied like a dream, just like it did the first time I used it. Love it! I left my bottle of Pretty Little Werewolf upside down for a bit before applying. With my first coat, not as much glitter came out as I was hoping but my second coat did the trick. I was able to get more than enough glitter out on my nails. I was especially happy that I got moons, stars, and circles out. Speaking of which, I love how the two big circles look on my middle finger nail. It was a happy accident! I used two coats of Rica Glossy Glam for a glassy smooth surface because some pieces of glitter were poking through.

By the way, the small chip on my middle finger nail was due to me dinging my nail before I had the chance to top coat it and because of that a piece of glitter flaked off, taking the base with it.

The picture in the sun was taken with my new iPod Touch 5 that I got over the summer. I just love how how it turned out!

Oh and here's a bottle shot of all of the gorgeous glitter!

I can't express how much I love Pretty Little Werewolf and this mani! It's girly and perfect for someone like me that loves purple and glitter. I'll be sad when I take it off today.

OPI Jinx

My laptop mouse died for good last weekend and using nothing but the scroll pad has made it difficult to do much of anything, especially post. Thankfully I bought a new one so I am back. I have quite a few posts that have been sitting in my drafts for a while and today I am finally publishing one of them. Here is OPI Jinx which I believe I wore back in August.

Jinx is a coral/red/orange with a golden shimmer running throughout. It's absolutely gorgeous and bold. It truly was a perfect color for summer. I honestly had a hard time not staring at my nails while wearing it. I really should have thought to put on top coat to see that shimmer come to life.

Jinx applied effortlessly on the nail without a single problem. I just needed two coats. I had almost no clean up either which I loved.

If you love textured polishes, Jinx is a must have! It's now a favorite of mine along with Zoya Carter.

My LA Kings Look!

Months ago I mentioned that I was going to a LA Kings Stanley Cup Final game with my dad. For those of you that don't follow hockey, the Kings did end up winning the Stanley Cup, which marks the second time they have won in the past two years. I couldn't be more happy about it. The game I went to was game 1 and it was an amazing experience for me since I had never been to a playoff game before and I also got to see it go into overtime, another first for me. Here's what I wore on my nails. Keep in mind I was running low on time and was severely lacking imagination.

I used black, silver, and white to match the colors on their jerseys. Not super creative as I said but I was happy with the simplicity. The black was China Glaze Liquid Leather, the silver was China Glaze Cheers To You, and the white was OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. Out of the three, Liquid Leather was the easiest to use. It was opaque in two coats and applied smoothly. The one I had the most trouble with was OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. Ugh, I got so frustrated with it! It went on streaky and did not want to dry whatsoever. Everyone raves about this polish and each time I have used it, I've had less than stellar results. I don't know if it's my bottle or my application, but it's not my favorite. My Rica Glossy Glam top coat really helped to make it look better.

I took a million photos at the game, some of which I thought about posting but I honestly do not feel like going through all of them. Just trust me when I say this, it was awesome. I'll never forget it. Now I'm just counting down the days that hockey is back on. I miss watching it.

Laquerlicious Silver Lining

Hey! I am so looking forward to tonight. I was supposed to work tonight but my plans totally changed. My dad surprised me  with LA Kings tickets for the game tonight! I am so flipping excited! I cannot wait. I've been to games before but never during the playoffs. To know that they're playing for the actual Stanley Cup in this last series makes it even more special. Luckily I was able to get someone to cover my shift. Like there was any way I would be missing this game!

Anyway, I have another Laquerlicious glitter from the recent order I made. I wore it almost two weeks ago. Here's Silver Lining!

Silver Lining is a silver holographic and metallic glitter. It is stunning and so sparkly! As you can see, I used it for an accent nail. What you see is just one coat over OPI A Grape Fit. It's a dense glitter but I'm sure I could have gotten away with a thinner coat. I don't know why I waited so long to try out an accent nail. It's a great way to add something special to the mani but without making it look overwhelming. Silver Lining was a bit thick but it was easy to use and didn't give me any problems. It didn't dry super gritty so I only needed one coat of Rica Glossy Glam.

Silver Lining is a fantastic silver glitter! It's gorgeous and as far as my collection is concerned, it's pretty unique too. I don't have anything like it. I have another one from Laquerlicious, a gold one, that I'll be showing very soon.

I'm planning to paint my nails for the game but I won't be posting that until another day. Fingers crossed that they win tonight! Thank you for stopping by and I hope your day is a great one!

OPI A Grape Fit

Hey! How was your weekend? I hope it was a great one. Mine was really nice. I worked on Saturday and then on Sunday I was off. I went shopping with the family and ate a nice lunch after. Then last night my LA Kings beat the Chicago Blackhawks in game 7 during overtime and now they're going to the Stanley Cup Final! It was such a thrilling game and I almost had multiple heart attacks. I cannot wait for the last and final series to start.

When compared to my glitters, I don't have a large amount of cremes in my collection. They've never been my absolute favorite because usually given the choice I gravitate toward sparkly and glittery shades. Still, cremes are beautiful in their own right and today I have an amazing one that I absolutely love. Here is OPI A Grape Fit.

A Grape Fit is a beautiful medium grape creme. While I don't have them to compare, A Grape Fit is darker than OPI Do You Lilac It? and much lighter than China Glaze Grape Pop. It's pretty much perfect if you don't want something too pale or too dark. The formula was seriously fantastic! It might have the best formula in a creme that I've ever tried. It applied beautifully and evenly on the nail. It was nearly opaque in just one coat but I needed a second to make it completely opaque. I hardly had any clean up at all, which is always something I'm happy about.

Purples are my favorites and A Grape Fit is perfect! I already put a glittter on top of it but I'll be showing that in my next post. Stay tuned for that! In the mean time, I hope your week is off to a great start!

OPI Desperately Seeking Sequins/My "Frozen" Nails

I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend. Mine was very relaxing and laid back. It consisted of a lot of hockey watching, mainly of just my team, the LA Kings. I went to a sports bar/restaurant on Saturday with my mom and niece and together we watched the game. There was a lot of Kings fans there and it was just a cool experience. They also played on Monday but this time I watched from home, while eating some yummy food with my family. They won both games, so that made me super happy. They just have to win the next game, which is on Wednesday in Chicago, and they're off to play for the Stanley Cup.

Anyway, onto the nails!

The nails I'm going to show you are what I like to think of as my Frozen nails. I had no intention of that happening but I have no complaints as I love the movie and the soundtrack. My niece is so in love with it. She sings Let It Go all the time, among the other songs, likes to dress up as Elsa, and loves watching videos about Frozen on the computer. She even freaked out and was bouncing off the walls when she caught a glimpse of Elsa in the 3 season finale of Once Upon A Time. I may have got excited too. I'm looking forward to her character being on the show, even if she might be a villain.

As for how these nails came to be, I started out by testing a few glitter top coats on my right hand over my mani of Hit Polish Breakfast At Tiffany's and Candy Lacquer Peyton. After using OPI Desperately Seeking Sequins, it totally made me think of Elsa's dress when she's singing Let It Go in her ice castle, so I decided to put it over the rest of my nails.

I was totally in love with this combination while wearing it! It was super pretty. I really couldn't stop staring at my nails, especially when they were in the sun. They looked cold and icy, and totally sparkly. Desperately Seeking Sequins is a gorgeous glitter that happens to be a dupe of Which is Witch? from the Oz collection. I only needed one coat of this beauty. It had great glitter coverage. The holo in Candy Lacquer Peyton was dulled but it was still very beautiful. I loved having rainbow sparkle on my nails. Desperately Seeking Sequins dried rather smoothly, so I just needed one coat of my new top coat, Hoofer's Choice, which I liked.

My nails have no top coat in this picture. There's not much of a difference.

This mani is definitely on my list of favorite manis I've worn this year. Aside from the Frozen inspiration, it could even pass as a Cinderella look. If you want to do this look but don't have all of these polishes, especially Breakfast At Tiffany's, I'm sure it won't be too hard to find substitutes. I think you can get a similar look with China Glaze For Audrey, a holo top coat of your choice, and a nice silver glitter.

Random Skittle Mani!

I've been back from camping for almost three weeks. I had a great time, even though the weather in Carpinteria wasn't the greatest this time around. I took several walks along the beach and got so many pretty shells, including some whole sand dollars. I also spent time drawing, which I hadn't done in a while and my niece and I even watched The Amazing Spider-Man in our tent.

I missed painting my nails a lot and the look I'm sharing with you wasn't really planned. I guess you can call it a happy accident. I was in my room last weekend playing around with some of my untried polishes. I just grabbed what called to me and painted each nail a different color. I planned to remove all of the polishes and go with one choice, but I kind of fell in love with how my left hand turned out and decided to keep it on. Here's the result!

What you see from index to pinky is China Glaze Electrify, OPI Jinx, China Glaze Tail Me Something and Barielle Swizzle Stix. On my thumb, but not pictured, is Sally Hansen Big Money. This is such a random look but I can't help but like it. I will definitely be wearing these colors separately in the future. Oh and in case you're wondering why Tail Me Something looks different in the second picture, it was taken before I added a second coat.

Here's what it looked like before adding top coat.

So am I crazy for liking this? If I am, that's okay!

That's all I have for today but I have a post scheduled for tomorrow and I'm also working on a haul post, my first in 8 months. Thank you for stopping by!

OPI My Favorite Ornament

I'm alive! I've been sick with a cold but I'm finally getting better. Another reason why I haven't been posting as much is that I've been spending time writing and reading. If you haven't read the book Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick, you should! I read it in a day, I loved it so much. Not to mention, I've been watching a lot of the Men's Olympic hockey. I'm so bummed that Team USA got beat by Canada yesterday but at the same time, I'm really happy for my LA Kings players that now have a chance at the gold medal. I'll be rooting for them. So, that's what I've been up to, but enough of that, here is OPI My Favorite Ornament.

My Favorite Ornament is from OPI's 2013 Mariah Carey holiday collection. The Christmas season might be over but I can never get tired of a gorgeous gold. This one is amazing! I love it so much. It's so sparkly. It was super easy to apply and I only needed two coats. It also dried really fast and was left with a sandy type finish but two coats of top coat made it completely smooth and shiny.

I wanted something beautiful but simple and My Favorite Ornament definitely fit the bill. You should totally do yourself a favor and get yourself a bottle. It's a beauty. Because I love glitter I couldn't help but add one over it. I'll be showing you that in my next post. Until then, have a great weekend!

Candy Lacquer Sweet Hearts

I feel like a broken record, but today I have another cute and girly mani that is perfect for Valentine's Day! Here's Candy Lacquer Sweet Hearts layered over the last mani I posted, NYC Pink Champagne and CoverGirl Pink Twinkle!

Sweet Hearts has light and darker pink glitters in various shapes and sizes, such as hexagons, squares, really tiny bars, and cute hearts. I love this mix! It's so adorable. I'm so glad I was able to get my bottle from a blog sale, which lately, have become my weakness. I used one coat of Sweet Hearts, plus a second coat of dabbing. I love how this combination turned out. Sweet Hearts applied very well and I didn't have to fish for any of the glitters. I was able to get a heart out for all but two nails, which made me really happy. It dried bumpy, so I needed three coats of top coat to make it completely smooth.

Even though I really don't celebrate Valentine's Day, I still love all of the cute polishes you see this time of year! I just love all of the hearts and flower glitters. So far I'm not tired of pink polishes. I have a few more that I'll be showing as Valentine's Day gets closer.

Hit Polish Antique Rose

I've been wanting to wear a lot of girly and romantic manis lately, especially with Valentine's Day coming up. Today I have one that I absolutely love! Here's Hit Polish Antique Rose layered over OPI My Vampire Is Buff.

Antique Rose is without a doubt one of my favorite polishes by Hit Polish. It's a very beautiful combination of gold and rose hexagons, in various sizes, and circle glitter. I used My Vampire Is Buff as my base because I love that it's a creamy, light nude and it's mellow, in comparison to a stark white. Both polishes were easy to apply. I used two coats of My Vampire Is Buff and Antique Rose had great glitter coverage in just one coat. It dried surprisingly smooth for a glitter, so I just needed one coat of top coat.

I don't know why but my pinky looks so weird in most of the pictures I took, so I had a hard time choosing what ones to add for this post. Oh and try to ignore the top coat that looks like dry skin. I didn't realize until I was editing.

Polishes like Antique Rose remind me why I love Hit Polish so much! Though they are closed, they still remain to be one of my favorite indie brands.

I don't have many plans for this weekend, but I am definitely going to be waching the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks game that's taking place at the Dodger Stadium tonight. My dad's actually going to it with one of his co-workers! I'm so jealous. Well, I hope you have a fantastic weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Pop Culture Cosmetics Christmas Eve

It's Christmas! Merry Christmas to those that are celebrating. I just plan on staying home with my family, opening gifts, eating good food, and watching some holiday movies. I had planned to do my nails for Christmas, but I didn't find any spare time, so here is the mani that I wore for Christmas eve.

This is Pop Culture Cosmetics Christmas Eve. I chose to wear it for obvious reasons. I saw a swatch of it many few weeks ago and ever since then, I wanted it for myself. I'm glad I bought it because it's gorgeous! It's a pretty mix of glitters in Christmas colors. There are green and red circles, gold and silver hexes, super tiny glitters in various colors, and even cute stars, holographic silver bells, and red hearts! The silver bells are probably my favorite. This was my first time wearing a polish that has them.

What you see is just one coat! It was easy to apply and I had no trouble whatsoever getting any of the bigger glitters on the brush. The base I used was two coats of Sinful Colors Last Chance, which is actually mislabeled as Calypso. I've been on the lookout for a cheap dark green and this one is perfect, I love it.

I love this polish, it's perfect for the holiday season. I hope you have a great day, whatever it is you plan to do!

OPI All Sparkly And Gold & Hit Polish Holiday Cheer

I've been working about 6 days straight and today is my first day off. I'm going to dinner with my family later tonight and after were going to drive around to see some Christmas lights. I actually work tomorrow morning from 1-9 am, so I'm going to enjoy my time off while I can. Today I have a really fun Christmas mani for you!

First off, here is my base, OPI All Sparkly and Gold, which is an antique darkened gold glitter in a clear base. At first I wasn't going to buy it but the more I saw swatches, the more I wanted it. I'm glad I bought it because it's a beauty. I used two coats.

Now here are two coats of Hit Polish Holiday Cheer layered on top. It is Christmas in a bottle! There are small silver and gold circle glitters, larger red and green circle glitters, small green and silver white bar glitters, small gold squares, and green, white, and red hexagons. Some of the pieces are even holographic. It was super easy to apply and had amazing glitter coverage.

I absolutely LOVE this glitter. It is my favorite Christmas mani to date. It held up really well too. I had no chips, just some fading around the tips.

Sadly, Holiday Cheer is no longer available. Here's some more sad news. Hit Polish is actually closing their shop indefinitely and everything is being sold at discounted prices. I will really miss their polishes, as they have become one of my favorite indie brands. I'm so glad I was able to buy their beautiful polishes while I could.

For those interested, here is the link to their shop. They will be closing for good on January 10th, so if you see anything you want, now is the time to get it.

OPI Tiffany Case

I'm so happy it's the weekend! We had inventory this week at work, so it was busy. I'm definitely going to enjoy my days off. Yesterday, I wanted to wear a polish that was easy to apply, fast drying, and pretty much hassle free. I ended up choosing OPI Tiffany Case.

Tiffany Case is a Liquid Sand from the Bond Girls collection earlier this year. It's an icy, metallic blue, with small silver glitters. I really like it, it's quite pretty. It's gorgeous in the shade but in the sun, it's so sparkly! The formula had to be the best part. It was so easy to apply. What I'm wearing in pictures is just one coat! Unfortunately, I've read other reviews that say it stains and I'm not looking forward to that. I hope it's not too bad.

Despite the possibility of it staining, I'm really happy with Tiffany Case! It's a gorgeous color and it's super easy to apply. What more can you ask for? I have one more Liquid Sand that I haven't worn but should soon. There's a few others I have on my wishlist.
