Color Club Jingle Jangle

I felt like sprucing up my current mani, Revlon Cotton Candy and what better way than with glitter? It gave me the chance to pull out my unused bottle of Color Club Jingle Jangle, a blue and purple glitter from the Beyond the Mistletoe collection.

It consists of light blue and light purple glitter in a clear base. It doesn't seem to have holographic glitter. I almost used Candy Cane, the pink in the collection, but I wanted colors that would pop. The blue and purple makes me think of cotton candy, so I thought it would look great over the pink base. I'm glad I went with my instinct because they really are pretty together!

It was thick but application was easy. I only used one coat, so I'm not sure about it's opacity if worn alone but I'm guessing three or four coats would be good. As usual with glitters, it dried fast. I used one coat of top coat to smooth it out.

I'm so happy with this combination! It's fun, yet soft and whimsical. I really love Jingle Jangle and I'm glad I finally used it. It's such pretty glitter.

Revlon Cotton Candy

My niece is 5 years old today! I can't believe how fast time has gone by! It only seems like yesterday that I was changing her diapers. Happy birthday McKenzie, I love you! As for the polish I'm showing today, it's Revlon Cotton Candy, a pale shimmery pink with a candy scent. I actually didn't plan on wearing it today, but it's fitting that I am because Kenzie loves cotton candy, as do I. She's actually having a machine at her party in a few days. Anyways, here is Cotton Candy!

I mainly got it because of its name and scent. I wasn't even sure I would like the color on me but I love it! It's so soft and dreamy. I wanted to wear it because it's subtle. It's a nice change from all the bright, loud colors. The shimmer is really beautiful too. As for the smell, it's sugary and sweet. I've never worn a scented polish prior to this, so it took some time to get used to, but it isn't too obnoxious or overpowering. Top coat didn't make the scent fade either.

Unfortunately, I hate the formula. It's streaky and runny. I almost left it at 3 coats but I used a 4th for the dents and smears. It helped a little but some flaws are still visible. I hope it's not too obvious in my pictures. The drying time was too long for my liking. It kept denting, which I hate. I love the color, I just wish the formula wasn't such a pain. Maybe I'll have better luck with it next time.

Cotton Candy is the only polish I have like this in my stash, so it's very welcome, even with a crappy formula. So far I can't stop smelling my nails! I'm definitely going to get more scented polishes in the future.

OPI Swimsuit...Nailed It!

I can easily say that the polish I'm showing you today, is my favorite blue ever and it's only my first time wearing it! It's OPI Swimsuit...Nailed It! the super rich, dark blue foil from the 2011 Miss Universe collection. It's the only one I picked up from the collection and I'm so glad I got it when I had the chance.

In the bottle alone it glows and is super vibrant. It doesn't lose any of that on the nails! It completely translates, but it's even better, I think. I love that it's dark but it's still a vibrant foil without being too silvery. I was also amazed at how it shined and glowed before top coat (picture below). BTW, it's a tad washed out in my pictures. It's much darker and vibrant in person.

The formula is so amazing! I was aware of its great opacity before using it, but I wanted to see for myself and it so didn't disappoint. It's easily a one coater! If my first coat was a teeny bit thicker, I would have been good, but even so, I had hardly any bald spots. I just used a second to be safe. Application was so easy and it dried fast. It couldn't have been any better. I just hope it won't stain too bad!

Ugh, sorry about my funky ring finger.

Here it is without topcoat!

I'm so so so happy with this blue! I'm in love. It's a definite keeper. Do not hesitate in getting this one if you see it!

Wet N Wild Spoiled I'm So Jaded

Wet N Wild I'm So Jaded is my favorite polish from the Spoiled line. It's a gorgeous bright lime green, with a touch of neon, and gold shimmer. I wanted it right away when I saw swatches and I'm so glad it doesn't disappoint for me!

I can't stop staring at my nails while wearing it! It's bright and so pretty. If it weren't for the shimmer, I don't think I'd love it as much. It's a perfect color for summer and it would look amazing with a tan. Oh, and trust me, it looks way better in person! It was hard to capture how bright it is.

The formula isn't anything to write home about, it's kind of thick, but easy to work with. After three coats there is a tad VNL but it's not that noticeable and thicker coats could fix that. The drying time was average. The brush is wide and fluffy, but it was fine for me. Better than I expected. My only complaint is that it's cut irregularly with one bristle sticking out and too much polish pools in the brush.

My review might not show it, but I'm in love with I'm So Jaded! It's become one of my favorite greens. I have nothing remotely like it. It only cost me 99 cents and that makes my wallet very happy!

Color Club Beyond the Mistletoe

It's the weekend and I'm excited! I'm going to Los Angeles Dodgers baseball game tonight with my family and tomorrow I'm going to see Snow White and the Huntsman with a friend. Before I do any of that, I have a pretty polish to show you! It's Color Club Beyond the Mistletoe, the namesake from the collection. It may have been released for Christmas, but it's beautiful for any occasion.

It's the definition of a glitter bomb! It's loaded with holographic glitter. It's the blue version of Sugar Plum Fairy, from the same collection. The holo effect is very evident. I could stare at my nails all day while wearing it. It's perfect for bright, summery days! It reminds me of sparkling ocean or pool water.

I tried my hardest to capture the holo. I should have taken more in artificial lighting to help. I don't think I did it any justice. It's just one of those polishes that looks way better in person.

The formula on this was really great. I had no issues with application. It wasn't too thick or too thin, just about the perfect balance. I ended up using four coats and I know that sounds like a lot but my first two coats were really thin, so it's more my fault than the polish. The drying time was super fast as well.

Beyond the Mistletoe is pure love! It's an amazing polish from an amazing collection, which just might be my favorite from Color Club. On a side note, is anyone else having issues with Blogger? My chosen font won't load, neither will other fonts when I try to customize my template, and there's that whole issue of getting malware warnings when going to a few blogs on my blog roll. Kind of frustrating! Anyways, hope you all have a great weekend!

Kings Reign!

My L.A. Kings have won the Stanley Cup!! I'm so freaking happy and proud of my boys! The game was on Monday night. I celebrated the win with my family. It was crazy in our house with the screaming. My dad's been a fan for about 30 years, so he's been waiting a long time for this. When the season started I would say things along the lines of "imagine if the Kings win the Stanley Cup" or "they're going to win the cup." That was just said in fun and faith. My dad would say "oh my god, that would be so sweet." And hey, it really happened! No one really expected them to come this far, they were doubted a lot, so I'm really happy for them. Plus, it's the first cup in Kings history which makes it even more special.

Sorry about rambling! I'm just excited. Anyways, In my haul I hinted at what polish I would be wearing if the Kings won: Icing Pre Game. I layered it over my current Kings mani. I wanted to post this yesterday, but I was at a water park all day so I had no time. Anyways, here it is!

It's a glitter, and while it doesn't have a name that is related to a victory, the color is festive and reminds me of a party, so it's extremely appropriate. It's a mixture of gold, red, green, blue, pinky purple, and silver glass flecks in a clear base. It's a more intense and vibrant version of Icing After Party. In my opinion, the names don't match the polishes. Icing After Party has softer, muted colors and to me, that doesn't really represent an after party, but Pre Game's colors do.

The formula is good. I made sure to get enough flecks on my brush, so coverage wasn't a problem. I only had to use one coat. It's a bit thick and the drying time was a bit slow, but it doesn't bother me.

Here's a shade picture to get a better look at all of the colors!

I really love this polish! It sums up perfectly how I feel about the Kings winning. It's perfect for any celebratory moment!

Haul Time!

Unfortunately my hockey team, the Los Angeles Kings didn't win on Wednesday, which really bummed me out, along with the whole family. But I'm hoping for a win tonight. We'll be going back to the same bar to watch the game, so it'll be fun!

Anyways, I really don't want to take off my current Kings mani until after the game, so today I'm just doing a simple haul post of all of the polishes I bought while on my hiatus during the last few weeks and beyond.

First up, random bright, summery polishes:
Left to right: Sinful Colors Neptune, OPI Charged Up Cherry (found at a garage sale for 0.50 cents!!), and Spoiled I'm So Jaded

Now some beautiful greens:
Left to right: Revlon Top Speed Mistletoe, Sonia Kashuk Fairy Princess, and China Glaze Jolly Holly

Now my favorite part! Glitters:
Left to right: Icing Pre Game, Icing Shredded, and Spoiled Trust Fund Baby

So there you have it! I'm so excited to wear each and everyone, but I have to say, I'm really looking forward to wearing Icing Pre Game the most. No offense to the others. I can't help it. It's a party in a bottle type glitter, and well, if things go the way I'm hoping tonight, you will be seeing me wearing it very soon! Have a great Saturday!

GO KINGS GO!!

For those of you who are hockey fans and follow the sport, you probably know that the the Los Angeles Kings are in the Stanley Cup Finals against the New Jersey Devils. The Kings are my team and I'm so proud of them! Today is the 4th game of the series and possibly the last, since the Kings are 3-0 and if they win tonight, they get the cup. It's a big deal since it'll be the first in history for them, which is super exciting! My family doesn't have tickets but were going to ESPN Zone in L.A. to watch the game with a bunch of other Kings fans. I'm leaving right now since it's going to be busy, but I'm excited!

Anyways, I'm sharing with you my nails that I'll be sporting! Last time I wore black with silver tips to represent their jersey colors, but I wanted to change it up. The jerseys use to have purple, along with the black and silver, so I was inspired by that and my dad's old hat that I've been constantly wearing that has the old logo with those colors. I chose China Glaze Grape Pop as my base and added Cover Girl Disco Dazzle (silver glitter) on top and Icing Shredded (black shards) on top.

Here's what it looks like! I love it! It came out just like I had pictured. It just might be my favorite mani to date. Just to clarify, these are without topcoat. I was in a rush to get this published that I skipped that step.

It's my first time wearing Grape Pop and I love it! Perfect dark purple creme. Icing Shredded is a Lacquistry Shredded dupe! I didn't think anything of it when I saw it in the bottle, but it wasn't until I saw the shards on the brush that I realized what it was. Go to Icing if you're lemming after the Lacquistry! I didn't get as many shards on my nail as I had hoped, but it'll take practice.

Well I gotta run! Hopefully I'll come home happy!

Color Club Fashion Addict

If you're familiar with Color Club, you might know about their awesome, but affordable holographic polishes. There's Worth The Risque, Love Em Leave Em, Wild At Heart and Revvvolution, which I've both worn before, and the one I'm showing you today, Fashion Addict. Wild At Heart is one of my favorites but now I can easily say the same for Fashion Addict.

It's a light lilac purple with an amazing holographic effect. It doesn't require any squinting to see it, it's just obvious and so freaking pretty! Take a look at the pictures to see what I mean!

P.S. I slightly and barely edited some of my pics to get the holo to stand out like it does in person. It's so much better when you see it for yourself, TRUST ME!

The formula on this is really good! I had the same success with Wild At Heart and Revvvolution and I'm so glad this one doesn't disappoint. It goes on really easy and creamy. There were a few bald spots after the first coat, but a second took care of everything. The drying time wasn't super fast, but not average either. I'm really impressed.

If you want a holographic polish that is beautiful and delivers but you don't want to shell out a lot of money, you should take a look at Fashion Addict and the other ones from Color Club. I got mine from 8tyBeauty.com for only $3 dollars each. Such a steal!

Good luck to my boys on the L.A. Kings tonight! Can't wait to watch the game!
