Essence Oh My Glitter!

Purple is my favorite color, so I love it polish form . I have a really pretty one to show you today. It's actually now one of my top favorite purples. Here's Essence Oh My Glitter! which I picked up at an ULTA during the summer.

Despite the name, Oh My Glitter! has no glitter at all but instead a super pretty shimmer. I tried my best at capturing it in a picture but it's so much better in person. It's something you have to see for yourself. This was my first time using an Essence polish and I have to say, I'm really impressed. I don't know why but I was half expecting it to be sheer but it had such great coverage on the first coat. It was completely opaque after I added a second. Application could not have been easier. The brush was a tad wide but I have wide nails, so it didn't cause any problems. I was also pleased with how fast it dried. I topped it with one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat.

Oh My Glitter! is all kinds of awesome. It's beautiful, easy to apply, and very affordable at only $1.99. If you're a purple lover, go and give this beauty a chance!

Venique Gotta Have It!

So I've decided to put myself on a serious no buy. I've been spending way too much money on polish lately. I've also been thinking about having a blog sale. I've already gathered some polishes I'm considering selling. I'll keep you updated when I decide what to do. Today I have a new polish from a new to me brand. It's Venique Gotta Have It!, which I picked up at CosmoProf, along with two others from the same collection. Here it is!

Gotta Have It! is a predominantly gold glittery base with purple glitter of the same size. It's beautiful! I was so mesmerized by it in the bottle. The same could be said about the other two I got. As for the finish, I'm assuming it's a texture because it dried to a rough sandy finish. I found some information about the collection online but not much. Either way, it was a nice surprise. The formula was pretty impressive. It flowed onto the nail with ease and was fast drying for me. What you see are two coats of Gotta Have It! I couldn't help but put top coat on it and I really like the way it looked after. It took two thick coats of top coat to get the smooth finish I was looking for.

Here's Gotta Have It! with two coats of top coat.

It has major sparkle in the sun!

Gotta Have It! is one of the prettiest textures I've worn. Now I'm excited to try the other two. I honestly don't know where else Venique polishes are sold. I've only ever seen them at CosmoProf. If you happen to come across this color, I say give it a shot.

Liquid Lacquer What Happens In Vegas

Oh gosh, someone please stop me! I've spent a ridiculous amount of money on polish in the last two weeks. I blame Storenvy and awesome blog sales. Today I have one of the glitters I bought a few weeks back from one of them. It's Liquid Lacquer What Happens In Vegas. Isn't the name cute? This is the first time the brand is being shown on my blog. Unfortunately the shop is on what seems to be a hiatus due the owners personal issues. Anyway, here it is layered over OPI My Favorite Ornament.

What Happens In Vegas is a very simple but fun glitter mix. It consists of small purple, gold, and blue hexes in a clear base. It is definitely a party in a bottle. It reminds me of OPI Sparkle-icious, which has some of the same colors, but they're not dupes. The base was a little thick but one coat got me the glitter coverage I was hoping for. It did take a little longer than I would have liked to dry, but that is something I've grown to expect when dealing with glitters. One coat of top coat was enough to smooth the glitter.

Sadly, I had a hard time capturing this combination on camera. I just hate when that happens. It was much better in person. The last photo, though a bit blurry, is my favorite because you can see all of the colors popping over the gold base.

I'm not totally head over heels in love with What Happens In Vegas, but I really like it and enjoy the glitter mix. I can't wait to try it over black. I have a bunch of other Liquid Lacquers that I'm excited to try. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

OPI My Favorite Ornament

I'm alive! I've been sick with a cold but I'm finally getting better. Another reason why I haven't been posting as much is that I've been spending time writing and reading. If you haven't read the book Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick, you should! I read it in a day, I loved it so much. Not to mention, I've been watching a lot of the Men's Olympic hockey. I'm so bummed that Team USA got beat by Canada yesterday but at the same time, I'm really happy for my LA Kings players that now have a chance at the gold medal. I'll be rooting for them. So, that's what I've been up to, but enough of that, here is OPI My Favorite Ornament.

My Favorite Ornament is from OPI's 2013 Mariah Carey holiday collection. The Christmas season might be over but I can never get tired of a gorgeous gold. This one is amazing! I love it so much. It's so sparkly. It was super easy to apply and I only needed two coats. It also dried really fast and was left with a sandy type finish but two coats of top coat made it completely smooth and shiny.

I wanted something beautiful but simple and My Favorite Ornament definitely fit the bill. You should totally do yourself a favor and get yourself a bottle. It's a beauty. Because I love glitter I couldn't help but add one over it. I'll be showing you that in my next post. Until then, have a great weekend!

Lumina Lacquer Nothing Compares 2 U

Just in time for Valentine's Day, I have a new glitter in my stash that I'm wearing. Lumina Lacquer Nothing Compares 2 U is from their Mixed Tape Collection and it is named after the song by Sinead O'Connor, which happens to be a favorite of mine. On top of that, it's super gorgeous!

Nothing Compares 2 U is a beautiful mix of holographic glitters in pink, both light and dark, and gold glitters. There's a mix of hearts and hexes and circles in various sizes. I can't describe how much I love this. The colors are absolutely perfect. It's without a doubt one of the prettiest glitters I own. I layered one coat, which as you can see, is more than enough, over two coats of OPI My Vampire Is Buff. My coats were a tad thick, so it took a little longer to dry. Next time I'll be more careful when applying.

Here's Nothing Compares 2 U in the sunlight. I couldn't stop staring at my nails!

This post comes at a perfect time, as the collection is going to be restocked today at 2pm PST. I'm still deciding if I'm going to get anything but based on how much I love this one, I'm sure I will love whatever else I might get. Do you see anything that catches your eye?

Dandy Nails Chilled Down

I can't believe it's been almost a week since I last posted. How time flies! I had a great time at the LA Kings hockey game with my dad on Saturday, even though they lost. I can't wait to go back another time. Anyway, I still have a few Valentine's Day themed manis that I want to post but I wanted to take a little break and do something else. I went for my bottle of Dandy Nails Chilled Down, which I had been wanting for the longest time before buying my bottle in a blog sale. Here it is!

Dandy Nails is an off white creme that has nude tones and is packed with beautiful blue and gold flakes, which are not shy at all. I absolutely love the look of this polish. It's gorgeous but subtle at the same time. The colors together makes me think of the beach or even granite. The application could not have been more easy. It was opaque by the second coat but because of a few bare spots, I opted for a third coat. What I love the most is that I didn't have to do any clean up! Don't you just love when that happens?

Chilled Down is everything I hoped it would be. It's gorgeous but on top of that it has a wonderful formula. If you don't already own it, I highly suggest getting yourself a bottle. It's even better in person.

Hit Polish English Garden

So I'm going to a Los Angeles Kings hockey game today with my dad! He surprised me the other day with tickets. They're going to be playing the Philadelphia Flyers. I cannot wait, I'm so excited! I wanted to post this before I take off. Up until last night, it was the mani I had been currently wearing. Right now my nails are actually naked, since I have no time to paint them before the game. Anyway, I felt like adding something to Hit Polish Innocence, the last mani I posted, and I went with my unused bottle of Hit Polish English Garden. I got it during a huge half off sale that Hit Polish had a few months back. Most of the polishes were only available in mini bottles, so I got a few for each color I wanted. Here is the result!

So, I love English Garden! I really like polishes that make me think of roses and flowers and this one is absolutely perfect. I especially love how it looks over Innocence. English Garden is a beautiful mix of green, pink, and purple glitters in various shades, shapes, and sizes. There's circles, squares, hexagons, and even some shreds. It's just not just one kind of glitter either. There's a mix of matte, holographic, metallic, and satin glitters. It was so easy to work with. What you see is one coat of English Garden, no digging or fishing required. It dried with some grittiness, but two coats of top coat made it completely smooth.

English Garden is a beauty and I'm glad to have it. I can't wait to layer it over other colors.

Fingers crossed that my LA Kings win today. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great Saturday!
