My Late St. Patty's Day Nails!

I've been in Las Vegas for the past three days and just got back this morning. I was totally ready to post this on St. Patrick's Day, but for some reason my laptop wanted to import every photo, not just the new ones. I'm not sure why, I've never had a problem with it before. Anyways, I hope you all had a great St. Patrick's Day! I didn't get lucky in Vegas, but I had a great time!

Without further ado, my St. Patty's Day nails! I painted them the day I left. The first two pictures are from the hotel and the last two are at home.

This combination is Sally Hansen Green With Envy and Sinful Colors Call You Later on top. I love it! This is my second time wearing Green With Envy and it's a great cream. The first time I wore it, OPI Glow Up Already was on top. I thought about using that combination again, but I purposely got Call You Later (only $0.99 at Walgreens!) for St. Patty's Day. To be honest, the formula wasn't bad but I had problems with it. Maybe I put it on when the cream wasn't dry enough but it dragged and smeared a little. Luckily, top coat evened things out. By the way, Wet N' Wild Show Me The Money from the new Spoiled line seems to be a dupe.

My nails didn't exactly give me the luck I was hoping for in Vegas, but I was happy with the nice comments I got on them! I hope the rest of you had a lucky day.

China Glaze Some Like It Haute

Hey, everyone! Hope you're having a great weekend so far. Today I have a post that almost never was. For some reason I kept going back and forth on Some Like It Haute from the China Glaze Eye Candy collection. I finally came to my senses and realized that it's a beautiful graphite glitter and unique to my collection, so I asked for it for Christmas.

I'm so glad I did because it's absolutely stunning and perfect! Great in the bottle, but even more amazing on and way better in person too. It was reallllly hard to choose my favorite pictures to add.

The unintentional blurry pic! What a happy accident.

I love that it's dark and edgy but still girly. The holographic glitter makes it amazing. It wouldn't be as great without it. The polish is thick, but not too bad. It was opaque for me in two coats. Like most glitters, it dried fast and was really gritty when it did, so I doubled up on top coat. I hardly had any clean up either which was awesome.

I definitely made the right choice in giving this one a try. I just may have to change my mind about Love Marilyn now.

Sinful Colors Mint Apple

I had help from my four year old niece for this post. I asked her which polish out of Essie Coat Azure, and Sinful Colors Rise and Shine and Mint Apple, I should wear. From the title, it's pretty obvious what she chose. I say she has great taste already! Now, more about Sinful Colors Mint Apple.

It's just what the name suggests, an apple mint polish. It's the perfect combination of both colors. It also has subtle silver shimmer. I've had it for almost two years and I'm not sure why it took me until now to wear it. It's absolutely beautiful!

Try to ignore my somewhat red hands. It's not as noticeable in person.

I wasn't having much hope based on how streaky and sheer it was on the first coat, but the second made it so much better. I used a third just to be careful. Application was a breeze. There's nothing better than a cheap polish with not only great color, but great formula.

If you couldn't tell, I love it. It's a Sinful Colors must have if you ask me!

OPI Excuse Moi!

I finally got around to wearing the only polish I picked up from the OPI Muppets collection: Excuse Moi! It's a sheer pink base loaded with pink and silver micro-glitter and larger rainbow glitter.

It's girly, but it's not your average pink glitter. The rainbow glitter adds something special and sets it apart. The formula was super good as well. It was opaque in two coats and it dried fast, as most glitters usually do. I topped it off with one coat of Color Club top coat to smooth it out.

I had trouble capturing its true pink color in the sun. It kind of looks washed out. I think the shade picture is a better representation, but it's not a hundred percent exact either. In some lighting, it looks more vibrant.

I'm super impressed! Great color and great formula, can't ask for anything more. It's basically what I wanted the other glitters in the collection to be like. I would have gotten them in a heartbeat if they were, but at least my wallet is happy.

Sinful Colors Cinderella

Today I have a polish that I've been hearing a lot about over the past few weeks: Sinful Colors Cinderella. I'm a huge Disney fan, so I fell in love with the name upon first seeing it and the same can be said for the color! It's a beautiful baby blue that is reminiscent of Cinderella's dress. To make it even better, it has pink flakes that shift to gold. I had no trouble finding it at Walgreens when I got it a few weeks ago and like all Sinful Color polishes, it only costs $1.99 and it also seems to be a core color.

Enough of that, here's Cinderella! Isn't she a beauty? I cannot express how much I love it. It's a gorgeous shade of blue. I need more colors like this in my life.

The polish itself doesn't look that great in my pictures. I painted my nails last night and it was kind of a nightmare for me. It wasn't the formula, even though it's a little thick and seems to take a long time to dry. It's my fault for using coats that were too thick and not waiting long enough between them. I used two coats of China Glaze Snow underneath, but I still had to use three coats of Cinderella. You can see dents and smears on each nail, and those happened long after I put it on. On my index finger the polish smeared entirely off and that was ten minutes after top coat. I had the same problem on my right hand. The layers didn't want to mesh together or dry. SO annoying, but it's my fault, so don't let this stop you from trying it out.

Despite the bad experience, I still love Cinderella. It's a pretty color and unique to my stash. I just have to be more patient next time. I'm totally pining for a princess themed collection after wearing this one. Now I'm off to paint my nails all over, so another post will be up shortly!

Icing Pop A Bottle

I'm finally feeling better! So glad because I couldn't handle another day with my cold. It's miserable when you can't breathe out of your nose haha. To celebrate my day back, I have Icing Pop A Bottle! It's a clear base filled with gold, purple, and blue glitter.

The formula and application is great. It went on easy, dried fast, and was opaque in three coats. I polished my nails late last night and this was my go to color since I didn't feel like waiting too long between coats.

Now onto pictures!

As you can see, my nails are shortttt. I finally cut them down. I've been wanting to for a while since they were getting a little too long, but I didn't mean for them to be this short. I kind of got carried away with my clippers and nail file. I was a little mad/sad at first, but I'm actually okay with the length now. It'll take adjusting, but it feels like a fresh start.

As for the polish, I love it. It's glitter, so how can I not? It's beautiful and I love the combination of colors. It really does remind me of a party, so the name is fitting.

If you often go to Icing or you're looking to in the future, I definitely recommend that you check this color out! Icing polishes are $4.50 but they're often BOGO 50% off, so it doesn't hurt to spend the extra money. Your wallet will forgive you!

I Love Your Blog Award/11 Questions Tag!

I was going to post a new mani, but I've been feeling sick and miserable over the past few days because of my cold. The thing went away for a few days and came back. What a tease! I haven't had the energy to do much, but I'm going to take the time to address a blog award and a tag I was given, both by Carmela of Polished Indulgence. Thanks Carmela!

First up, is the I Love Your Blog award.

The Rules:
1. Link back to the person who awarded you.
2. Answer the questions
3. Award other blogs

The Questions:

1. What is your favorite fashion magazine?
I don't have one. I use to read Teen Vogue and Seventeen, but I've never been crazy obsessed with fashion.

2. Who is your favorite singer/band?
I have a ton, so it's kind of a hard question, but I really like Adele. She's been one of my favorites for a while.

3. Who is your favorite YouTube guru?
I don't have one, since I don't watch YouTube videos.

4. What is your favorite makeup product?
Blush. I practically wear it everyday because I love that it gives me a natural flush. The one I've been using religiously for the past year is Milani Powder Mosaics in Sweet Cheeks. I love it!

5. Where would you like to live?
England.

6. What is your favorite film?
I have a lot of favorites, but I would have to say Titanic. I've seen it so many times and I never get bored of it.

7. How many pairs of shoes do you own?
I'm not sure, probably 15 pairs or so.

8. What is your favorite color?
Blue and purple.

Now, here is the 11 Questions Tag, also given by Carmela from Polished Indulgence. Thanks again!

The Rules:
1. Each person must post 11 things about themselves on their blog.
2. Answer the questions the tagger set to you in their post and create 11 new questions for the people you tag!
3. You have to choose 11 people to tag and link them on your post.
4. Go to their blog and tell them you have tagged them.
5. You legitimately have to tag 11 people. No tag backs!

11 Things About Me:
  1. I had surgery on my left ear when I was 14, due to a ruptured eardrum.
  2. I'm 5'0.
  3. I was a Girl Scout when I was younger.
  4. Even though I'm a dog person, I had a lot of cats growing up. There was Jewel, Dipstick and Wizzer named after the 101 Dalmatian puppies, Nala from The Lion King, and Flower, from Bambi I think. Non-Disney cats were Orange and Marble.
  5. I love cotton candy and have to get it whenever I go to a theme park or a fair.
  6. I'm a Virgo.
  7. I lived in Oregon for two years.
  8. I've had acrylic nails once in my life and will probably never get them again.
  9. I'm not a morning person at all.
  10. In school, I hated and still hate, math. I've never been good at it, so it's one of my weak subjects, but I flat out don't like it. Numbers and me don't mix.
  11. I've never had a cavity.

Questions to answer:

1. What hard to find nail polish did you eventually find? How?
OPI Absolutely Alice. I went to a small beauty store in my city for the first time last summer, not going for anything specific but I wanted OPI Simmer & Shimmer. I saw a bottle of blue polish in the Burlesque display but it looked different. I grabbed it and looked on the bottom label and lo and behold it said "Absolutely Alice." It was just one random bottle, so I didn't hesitate in buying it!

2. What nail polish color would you love to wear but can never pull off?
Hm, I'm not sure. I've never had a problem with any color, but maybe red. I'm sure I could pull it off, but it's my least favorite and for some reason, I just don't like the way it looks on me.

3. How did your nail polish addiction collection start?
It started when my sister started going to cosmetology school. Early on when she needed equipment for the beginning of her classes, we went to Sally Beauty and I was really intrigued in and in awe over the nail polish selection. I ended up picking one color, China Glaze Naked, and the rest was history.

4.What is your favorite childhood memory?
I have a lot of fun memories, but it would have to be all of the times I've gone to Disneyland with my family. One time my mom, dad, sister, and me went to both parks over two days and that was a lot of fun, but the best experience is when we went for the 50th anniversary.

5. What song never fails to put a smile on your face?
Another hard one. A lot of songs make me happy, but I would say Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison or The Way You Do The Things You Do by The Temptations.

6.Who is your biggest celebrity crush?
Robert Pattinson.

7. Where would you have your all-expenses paid dream vacation?
Either England, or anywhere in Europe for that matter, or Walt Disney World.

8. If you won $100M in the lottery, what would you do with it?
That's so much money, that I'd have no idea what to do with it at first. I would give some away because I think that is too much money for one person, but ultimately, I would travel the world.

9. A cosmetic company wants you to be the face of their brand. Which company is it and why?
I really like Stila. It was one of the first brands I tried when I started shopping at Sephora. I love all of the products they offer. I also like Benefit, even though I haven't personally bought their products before.

10. Do you believe in Fate, faith or choice?
Probably choice. I don't think someone's life will turn out a certain way just because it's "fate" and already planned out. I think the choices someone makes will affect the end result.

11. What is one thing you've always wanted but know you can never have?
Um, I honestly have no idea haha.

This is the part where I'm supposed to tag 10 people and I know I'm cheating by doing this, but I have no energy to tag people right now. So consider yourself tagged if you want to be!

I promise a mani will be up soon! :)
