China Glaze It's A Trap-eze

Today I have the only polish I picked from the China Glaze Cirque du Soleil World's Away collection, It's A Trap-eze.

It's A Trap-eze is pretty much like Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop or Claire's Candy Shop, but instead of a pink base, it's a sheer, creamy white base loaded with rainbow glitter. I wouldn't say it's the most beautiful polish I've ever laid my eyes on, but is it fun and cute? Definitely. That's what I love about it.

It was thick due to all of the glitter, so it wasn't the easiest to apply but it was manageable. It was sheer on the first coat, but three coats got me full coverage. I really like the jelly sandwich effect it has. Clean up was a PITA. Glitter was everywhere and it kept wanting to flake off in big pieces. Totally worth it though.

I'm really happy with It's A Trap-eze. It was one of the standouts from the collection for me and it certainly doesn't disappoint. If you want a party on your nails, this is your polish.

Milani Orchidia

Purple is my favorite color but I don't seem to have enough of it in polish form, so it's always a good thing when I find one to add to my stash. I've been wanting Milani Orchidia for quite some time, so I'm happy that I finally now have it.

Orchidia is one of the prettiest purples that I have. It's a bright violet with silver shimmer. I love, love it. The shade of purple is super gorgeous and flattering. Not to mention, it's unique, at least in my stash.

It was a little thick but it wasn't a pain to work with. It was actually kind of buttery. I used three coats and one coat of top coat.

Orchidia is the perfect purple for me. If you love purple, I'm sure you'll love this one just as much as I do.

Claire's Candy Shop

Claire's Candy Shop went straight on my wishlist after I first saw swatches of it. I had been wanting it for a while but I never brought myself to actually get it. A few weeks ago I found it on sale for $2.25, so I immediately snatched it up. My niece actually chose for me to wear it because of the name alone.

Candy Shop is a straight up dupe, both in color and name, of Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop. It's a sheer pink base loaded with rainbow glitter.

The formula was good. It was really sheer on the first coat but it was okay by the third. Some VNL is still noticeable, but it's not bad.The drying time was pretty fast. I only needed two coats of top coat.

Overall, I'm really happy with Claire's Candy Shop. It's a fun, girly polish and for now it kills my lemming for the Deborah Lippmann version.

Sugarcandie Beauty Bar Haul/Review

Today I have another bath and beauty site to share with you! This time my goodies are sugar scrubs from Sugarcandie Beauty Bar. This is my first order from them and I'm really excited about my haul.

If you're familiar with the brand Isle of Eden, Sugarcandie Beauty Bar is very similar. They carry products like body creme and spray, but their scrubs are the most popular. They offer so many flavors, so there's something for everyone. All of the scrubs are apart of different collections. They offer very in depth scent descriptions and a lot of them sound good enough to eat!

Most of their scrubs are 12 oz. for $18, but some are offered in bigger sizes for extra. For me personally, that is a little pricey so I waited until their sales. I had been eying the Christmas themed collection, Santa's Sugarland and they happened to go on sale before the season was over. I ended up getting two of the scrubs from the collection for $5 each.

This is what their scrubs look like:

Here's the flavors I got:

Naughty Or Nice- supposed to smell like cherry dipped marshmallows, homespun vanilla sugars, and berry cotton candy. I really like it. The cherry and berry in it are very evident upon first smell. I also thought I could smell some almond in it.

Cozy By The Fire- supposed to smell like crackling firewood and toasted marshmallows. I wanted this one the most. It's an odd scent, but in a good way. It pretty much smells like firewood, mixed with sweetness. It might not be your ideal scent, but it's a lot better than you think. It's woodsy, earthy, and just plain warm and comforting. I love camping and this brings back memories of me coming home and smelling like firewood.

Enchanted Tea Party At Dusk sample- comes from the Once Upon A Time collection. It's one of their bestsellers and it's supposed to smell like black tea, pomegranate, lemon sugars, and violets. I absolutely love it! It smells just like fruity tea, so good. I made a second order from them about two weeks ago and I'm glad I have this one coming to me in a full size.

I love how they add glitter to the top of each scrub and the different colors swirled together. I played around with the scrubs, sampling a little bit of each on my arm. They have a thick, creamy consistency and they scrub really well when you add water. I ended up using Cozy By The Fire when I took a shower and I really like it. It was nice and scrubby, and a bit creamy. What I love is that it's not super oily, but still moisturizing, just without being overly greasy. I also love that the scent lingers, as do the others that I sampled.

I'm impressed with the company. The only negative side is that their TAT (turn around time) can be a little slow. I ordered these scrubs on December 22 and it took a while for my order to go from the processing stage to shipping. I just got them on January 19, so it was almost a month. While it's not satisfactory, I don't mind the waiting.

Overall, I recommend Sugarcandie Beauty Bar! I also recommend taking advantage of the sales and other specials they offer from time to time. I'm really happy with my scrubs and can't wait to use them more. I'll have another review up once I get my second order from them.

Edit: It's many months down the road and I have yet to receive my second order from them. I also never received an email containing the USPS tracking code, so I'm just assuming they never sent me my package. I emailed them about this problem, but it has gotten me nowhere. There's more to the situation but I won't go into specifics. As much as I like the scrubs in this review, this is a huge turn off and I won't be ordering from them in the future. I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Fortune Cookie Soap Haul!

Sorry I've been so absent. Today I have something completely new and different for my blog. A few months ago I got my first job and so far it's been awesome making my own money. I've treated myself to a few orders to different bath and beauty etailers. I have a haul/review that I couldn't help but want to share with you guys. It's goodies from Fortune Cookie Soap.

I've been wanting to order from Fortune Cookie Soap ever since I first read a review on their products. Not only do they sell the cutest fortune cookie shaped soaps, but they also carry lotions, body butters, body scrubs, soap bars, body spray, bath bombs, hand sanitizers, etc. Aside from the cuteness of the brand, there's fun and unique scents too! Popular choices include Cupcake, In The Loop, and Unicorn Farts, among many.

I ended up ordering three soap bars and one body spray.

All of my soaps came packaged like this:

There's a sticker to show you what each product is. For a little extra cost, Fortune Cookie Soap also offers cute little takeout boxes as alternative packaging for their fortune cookie shaped soaps.

Anyways, here's a closer look at what I got (and have already used)!

-Tangle In The Tinsel Soap Bar ($3.50): This soap is so cute. The pink is brighter in person and it even has flecks of glitter. I love love it! It's so good. It's described as smelling like pink sugar and cola. It's very similar to Aquolina Pink Sugar, or so I've heard. I got it half off since it was apart of the Christmas line, but I wish it was around full time. I almost bought the body wash of it just so I could stock up.

-Candy Cane Fluff Soap Bar ($3.50): My least favorite but I still really love it! It's a mixture of peppermint and marshmallows. The two flavors blend nicely together, creating a sweet and soft smell. I also got it on sale.

-In The Loop Soap Bar ($7.45): This one is named after Fruit Loops cereal and it's because it smells EXACTLY like it. I'm obsessed with it! Whoever created this is a genius. It's by far my favorite of the bunch. I can't help but constantly smell it. The bar itself is so cute with the loops on top. It even has drips down the side to resemble milk.

-8 oz. In The Loop Hydrating Botanical Mist ($12.99): I'm in love with this body spray! It smells just as great as the soap. Another reason I really like it is that it's moisturizing. I can feel how soft it is when sprayed on my skin. The scent lasts for a decent amount of time. This is also available in a 4 oz. bottle.

-Unicorn Farts Solid Bubble Bath Sample: First off, I love the name. It's so weird but cute at the same time. It has a yummy fruity smell. This is the only product that I haven't tried yet but I'm looking forward to using it in my bath.

Overall, I'm really impressed with these products! The soaps are average size and the spray will last me for some time. They're affordable, unique, and smell amazing. I'm positive this won't be my last time purchasing from Fortune Cookie Soap. Here's the link if you want to take a look for yourself.

P.S.- Candy Cane Fluff is sadly completely sold out but if you're interested in Tangle In The Tinsel, hurry up! There's only 12 bars of soap and 5 body washes left. As for In The Loop, it's available all year round. Hope you find something you like!
