Sation Plenty of Frogs & Orly Monster Mash

Today I have a St. Patrick's Day look that I actually wore about two weeks ago and have been meaning to post. Here is Sation Plenty of Frogs and Orly Monster Mash!

Plenty of Frogs is a grassy green with what I believe is a gold shimmer. It was love at first stroke with this polish. It's so pretty and was a breeze to apply. I used three coats. I then layered one coat of Orly Monster Mash on top. It's a beautiful green glitter and not only that but the hexes and bar glitters are holographic! It had great coverage in just the one coat. I topped  everything off with one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri and one coat of my Orly top coat for a glassy smooth finish.

Here is Sation Plenty Of Frogs by itself.

I absolutely love these two together! They make for a gorgeous combination that is perfect for St. Patrick's Day. I have another St. Patrick's Day look that I'm hoping to post tomorrow! Thank you for stopping by. I hope you've had a great weekend so far.

Orly Fowl Play

I finally got one of my biggest lemmings last weekend! I have been wanting Fowl Play ever since it came out. I managed to find it at T.J. Maxx in an Orly two pack, for about $7.99, which is an awesome deal. I painted my nails with it on Thursday night, but I was so tired from my overnight shift, that between each coat, I would lay on the couch, waiting for it to dry and ended up falling asleep each time. After the second coat and the second nap, I decided to call it a night. I ended up finishing the mani the next afternoon. Here are the pictures!

I loveee Fowl Play. It has a lot of great things going on. It is a dark purple jelly base that is filled with flakies that shift from green to orange, and blue micro-glitter. I can't stop staring at my nails. The flakies are gorgeous and truly take this polish to the next level. It's also a perfect dark shade for fall. I'm sure most of you already know that Fowl Play is a dupe of OPI Midnight Merry, which isn't the easiest polish to get your hands on. The formula was pretty great, it was really easy to work with. It was sheer on the first coat and a little patchy, but I already expected that, being that it's a jelly. The second coat covered everything up quite nicely and the third made it completely opaque. The drying time was decent as well. I did get a few small dents in my nail after my first coat, but the blanket I fell asleep with on the couch is to blame. None of them are evident now, thankfully. I topped everything off with one coat of my Orly top coat.

And just because here is a picture of Carter, now 5 months old and 38 pounds! I still can't get over the fact that he's mine.

Anyway, I can't believe it's taken me this long to get Fowl Play. Now that I think about it, I really don't know what was stopping me from going out and buying it, but I think the wait was definitely worth it! It's such a gorgeous polish and aside from its dupe, it's quite unique. I love it.

Windestine Heartbeat Swatch & Review!

Las Vegas was fun, but I'm happy to be back so that I can post. I'm very excited to share this post I have for you today! I was asked about two weeks ago if I wanted to review some polishes from the new Windestine collection inspired by Little Women. I don't remember if I've read the book, but I definitely remember the movie. It was one of my favorites growing up. I had such a big crush on Laurie, played by Christian Bale. Anyway, this marks the first time I've been asked to do a review for an indie brand, or any brand for that matter. I was sent three of the polishes from the collection to review and today I have the first one to show you. Without further ado, here is Heartbeat!

Heartbeat is a purple crelly that has purple, magenta, and copper glitter. According to the description, Heartbeat is inspired by Beth of Little Women. It is so gorgeous!! Purple is one of my favorite colors and this one is fabulous. The shimmer is without a doubt the best part of this polish. It adds a beautiful glow. Unfortunately, I had a hard time capturing just how awesome it is. It's so much better in person. For swatches, I layered one coat of Heartbeat over two coats of China Glaze Grape Pop, which I think makes a great base. I have no doubts that it would look beautiful worn by itself. Formula wise, Heartbeat was fantastic. It wasn't too thick or thin and the application was smooth and trouble free. I topped it off with one coat of my Orly topcoat.

I'm very impressed with Heartbeat! It's such a gorgeous color. The other two I have are just as pretty and I can't wait to show you swatches of them. Head on over to Windestine if you love this color and want to purchase it for yourself!

TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Burlington Coat Factory, Sephora, and indie haul!

I mentioned on Thursday that I went shopping and bought 19 polishes. I went to TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Burlington Coat Factory, and Sephora. I went back to Sephora the next day and came home with six new polishes. I also received an order from Pretty & Polished and Smitten polish about a week ago and a KBShimmer order on Friday. I figured it was no better time than to do a haul post!

TJ Maxx:

Barielle 5 pack with Swizzle Stick, Falling Star, Snow Day, Jordana's Skinny Jeans, and Out-Grey-Geous- $7.99. My huge lemming for Falling Star has officially been killed! I was incredibly excited to find it.

OPI 2 Pack with Stranger Tides and Skull and Glossbones- $7.99. Big lemmings killed with this pack!

Marshall's:

Orly Perfect Pair Pack with Go Deeper and Monster Mash- $6.99. There were so many awesome Orly packs to choose from but it was perfect that this one has the two FX glitters that I have been wanting the most.

Sation Nail Lacquer in Lollipop! Goes The Princess, Love Is In The Heir, and Chocolate Chip Resistant- $2.99 each. These are my first polishes from Sation, so I'm excited to try them.

OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener and an OPI bangle bracelet- $6.00. I saw this on my previous trip to Marshall's but I couldn't pass it up this time as it was on clearance and it was the last set. The bracelet it comes with is super cute!

Burlington Coat Factory:

Color Club Halo Hues in Blue Heaven, Cloud Nine, Angel Kiss, and Cherubic- $3.98 each. I almost didn't go to Burlington but was so happy that I did. I was going to get these no matter the price but was shocked to find out that they were so cheap.

Sephora:

Sephora by OPI Looks Like Rain Dear, Mauve-ie Star In The Making, Traffic Stopper Copper, I'm With Brad, Just A Little Dangerous (totally forgot to get a picture of this one, sorry!), and It's Real 18k Gold Top Coat (x3)- $4.50 each. This brand is being discontinued, so I have been taking full advantage of it. These all come from three different Sephora's, at two different malls. One of the stores was in JCPenney's. Like I mentioned in my previous post, the It's Real 18k Gold Top Coat were also $4.50, originally $30.

Pretty & Polished:

Punk'd Up Betty, Boy Bleu, and Sand Art- $7.00 each, plus shipping. I've been wanting these polishes for the longest time and when I found out that they were going to be discontinued from the brand once sold out, I finally got them for myself. As of right now Sand Art and Boy Bleu are still in stock.

Smitten Polish:

Candy Kisses-9.00, plus shipping. This polish is so cute! I didn't think Noelie was creating this one anymore, so I had to get it when I saw it listed in her shop.

KBShimmer:

Proud Peacock and Sugar Plum Faerie- $8.75 each and The Peach Pit and Field of Greens- $5.00 each, plus shipping. Sugar Plum Faerie and Proud Peacock are core colors, but The Peach Pit and Field of Greens are from the recently released super special edition Misfits collection. They're actually sold out and won't be produced again.

So that's it for now! I don't feel incredibly guilty for these purchases, because most everything I bought was for a deal and in a way, I feel like it justifies my spending. I usually don't post prices in my haul, but I wanted to share my awesome deals with you! I have decided that I'm not going to be putting myself on a no buy, because it clearly does not work.

Orly After Party

Today I have Orly After Party, a black polish loaded with blue and pink shimmer, from the Feel the Vibes collection. It's an oddball for summer, but it's beautiful, so who cares? I bought it at Sally Beauty during their extra 50% off red tag clearance sale for only $2. Let's take a look at this beauty!

The blue and pink shimmer is still obvious when on the nails, but it's more intense in the bottle. However, it doesn't disappoint. It's still very pretty. Even though it's black, it appears blue/purple tinted because of all the shimmer. It's very interesting and I found myself staring at it a lot. It's one you have to see in person, it's so much better.

It was a dream to work with! It was a little gritty and thick, but it didn't affect application one bit. It was actually a good thing, since it was almost opaque in one coat. I needed a second to cover the small amount of bald spots that I had. It dried some what matte, so top coat was necessary.

I love After Party! I'm not sure how how unique it is, but in my stash, it is. Behind my Orly Cosmix FX polishes, it might be my favorite from the brand.

Orly Space Cadet!

On Monday I went to the California Science Center in Los Angeles with my aunt, my five year old cousin, my four year old niece, and my mom. It was fun for all of us! I had every intention of painting my nails the next day but I've been sick. I went to bed on Tuesday feeling crappy and woke up feeling worse. It might just be a cold, but I had flu like symptoms on Wednesday, so who knows. I finally managed to paint my nails with Orly Space Cadet, which was perfect after my science filled day and it was my first time wearing it.

As most of you probably already know, Space Cadet is from Orly's popular collection, Cosmic FX. It's a multi-chrome and its effects are much more noticeable than the rest. I was at CVS last year when I found Lunar Eclipse, Out Of This World, and Halley's Comet by total chance! Sadly, no Space Cadet, but something cool happened later. Turns out my brother's girlfriend at the time had it and she gave it to my mom, who then gave it to me because she knew how much I wanted it. You can imagine how happy I was! It's that much more special to me because of how it ended up in my stash. Without further ado, here's Space Cadet!

I took so many pictures to capture the colors, so just a warning. All but two are in the shade because the colors stand out more. I used my mom's camera since mine is dead and it's much better quality.

The only picture in indoor lighting.

And the one in the sun.

I regret not wearing it sooner. It's amazing and in my opinion, the best in the collection! For the most part it flashes green, pink, purple, gold, and orange. The shifts are so noticeable. You can even see multiple colors all at once. It's also sparkly because of the of foil particles. I love that it's just as good on as it is in the bottle, if better, so it doesn't disappoint. The formula was a little tricky. It was sheer and watery on the first coat but built up nicely by the third, and it seemed to take longer to dry than I would like. It wasn't terrible, so it's not enough to turn me off, and with a color this amazing, I don't think that could happen. It's so worth it to me.

I'm very happy with Space Cadet! After wearing it, it has become one of my favorites. If you love duo-chromes or multi-chromes, then you'll love this. It's hard not to!

After Christmas Haul!

This is a super late post, but I finally managed to take decent pictures. Bathroom lighting didn't want to cooperate! These are just some finds of mine that I was able to score for great deals over the few days after Christmas. This was my idea of after Christmas shopping!

Orly Androgynie. I got it from Sally Beauty the day after Christmas for $2! It was 70% off because of the Red Tag clearance sale, as were other colors from Orly Holiday Soiree and China Glaze Let It Snow.

Witches Brew. It's my first Icing polish that I got at the mall, which was on sale for $2. There wasn't a sale tag, so total surprise to me! Too bad it's red equivalent, Vampire's Blood was full price, but there's always next time!

Zoya Harley. I got it at a newly discovered beauty store that I went to after the mall and it was only $2.99!! It was in a bucket of old formula polishes, even though it's 4 Free, but it was discounted for some reason.

Well that's it! I love getting surprised with a great deal! Sometimes it makes it that much better. Were any of you able to get some great after Christmas deals?
