Sinful Colors Thimbleberry

I am finally back to posting! I didn't think taking a few days off from blogging would turn into a two month hiatus, not that I ever planned on staying gone this long. It started with a really bad nail break and I really didn't really feel like doing anything with them. I've also just been doing a lot of stuff during the summer with my family. Some beach trips, swimming just about every day I can, going to fun places, my sister's baby shower, and a week trip to Palm Springs. Not to mention working too. I have missed the heck out of playing with polish and blogging. The mani I'm showing you today was done right before my bad breakage. Here is Sinful Colors Thimbleberry.

Thimbleberry is a creme polish with red, pink, coral, and orange tones in it. I would say it's more red and coral than anything else but the other tones are still there. I seriously love everything about this color, especially how it looked on me. I don't like reds that much but this one is so wearable for me. It's not too red, thanks to the lovely coral tones. It was creamy and applied effortlessly on the nail. I only used two coats but looking at some pictures I can see some VNL, though it's not too noticeable.

While it's a gorgeous polish, I had one hell of a time trying to capture it on camera. It looked different in each lighting. It was either too pink or way too orange. My pictures aren't totally true to how it looked, but they're not too far off either. It was so much more vibrant in person.

So, what do you think about Thimbleberry? I love it and I think it would look great on just about everyone. You also can't beat the $1.99 price. I have something pretty over it in the next post, so stay tuned for that!

OPI The Impossible

Today I have the second OPI Liquid Sand polish that I got. It is The Impossible, the bright, reddish pink from the Mariah Carey collection.

I loved OPI Stay The Night, the other beautiful Liquid Sand that I got, and I love this one too! I never really gravitate toward a reds or pinks in a collection but this one is so pretty. It's bright, sparkly, and I find the color very flattering. It's a juicy pinky red with small hexagon glitter and there's also beautiful purple shimmer that can be seen in the bottle. It also has cute stars in the mix but they're hard to get on the nail. As you can see, I didn't get a single one, but regardless, I still like the polish. I can see myself wearing it during the summer. This is three coats.

I've been completely won over by the Liquid Sand polishes. I'm really glad I took the chance on them. I'm definitely going to be getting What's Your Number? and a few from the Bond Girls collection as well.

OPI Stay The Night

I must admit, I wasn't completely convinced by the liquid sand/textured polish craze that has been taking over. I saw swatches of different collections featuring the new trend and I was neutral about it. Still, I wanted try it to see for myself. To test the waters, I chose two OPI Liquid Sand polishes and after a quick swatch on my nails, I fell in love! Today I'm showing you my first pick, OPI Stay The Night.

Stay The Night is a black matted base with red glitter. Being a Liquid Sand, it's grainy and it sparkles like sand. I've seen this one described as looking like molten lava and I must say that is pretty accurate. It's super pretty to look at. The texture isn't nearly rough as I thought it would be. I actually like it. The most surprising thing about this polish? Removal is SO easy and hassle free! I expected it to be a pain but I was so wrong. It didn't involve any elbow grease and it removed so much easier than a glitter. I needed three coats. It dried faster than some polishes I have used but it took a good while until it was completely hardened.

It's settled, I'm in love with Liquid Sand! I'm so glad I gave it a chance. Stay The Night is one that I recommend. I can't wait to show you the other one I got in my next post. In the mean time, I'm hoping to get my hands on even more colors!

China Glaze Mrs. Claus

Last year, when I was fairly new in the world of nail polish, my sister took me to CosmoProf for the first time. I was in heaven. I didn't buy anything, but my eyes landed on the China Glaze 'Tis The Season To Be Naughty And Nice collection. I wanted a handful of the colors, one of them being Mrs. Claus. I'm not a huge red polish fan, but I was in love with the tinted red polish mixed with silver red glitter. I wanted it so bad. I was super happy to find it, along with a few others from the collection, in my stocking on Christmas day.

I never did take the time to wear it though. I was always picking a color over it and it wasn't until this year that I finally wore it. I was worried at first that I wouldn't like it because of my lack of interest in red polish. I was wrongly mistakenly! It's such a beautiful polish and I can't believe I didn't wear it sooner. It's one of my favorites. What I like the most about it, is that it's versatile. It can easily be a red that you wear during the holidays, but because of the sheer red quality of it, you can get away with wearing it during the summer. It has a certain juiciness to it and it reminds me of raspberries or strawberries.

It was pretty sheer on the first coat, no surprise there to be honest. It was good on the third coat, even though it's still pretty sheer overall. I wouldn't let that factor stop you from giving this polish a try. I think the sheerness works because it gives your nails a pop of color, while also adding a base for the glitter, which it's super packed with.

First up are some bottle shots in the shade to show off the silver red glitter.

This picture isn't exactly color accurate. I don't think it's as pink.

This is a horrible low quality shot that I got when I was playing around with my camera, but it actually highlights how glittery the polish is.

While, I'm still not a red nail polish fanatic, I'll definitely be wearing this many more times in the future. If you ever come across a bottle, get it! I don't think you'll regret it. If you can't get your hands on it, apparently OPI DS Bold is an exact dupe. Thanks for reading!
