As you can tell, I bought a lot of indies and obviously spent a butt load of money. At one point I even wrote down all of my purchases and totaled it up. Not exactly a good idea for me, because I felt some guilt but it didn't last very long! Still, I'm going to try to be better about my purchases. I'll see how that works out!

Windestine Peacekeeper Swatch & Review!

I sound like a broken record when it comes to my lack of posting on here. Again, I got caught up in my summer plans. Last week I was on another vacation but this time in Palm Springs. After that, I sort of just got lazy. Anyway, I am back today with the last polish that I was sent to review from the Windestine Little Women collection. It happens to be my favorite of the three, so without further ado, here is Peacekeeper!

I love, love Peacekeeper! It is so pretty! It is a light gray crelly base with olive green, pale pink, and lavender glitter. The polish actually has a slight greenish, minty appearance. I love the delicate, whimsical feel of it. The glitters work perfectly together. Peacekeeper happens to be inspired by Meg of Little Women who is known for keeping peace amongst the family. As with the other two polishes I reviewed, I layered Peacekeeper. I used two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, which I really like, and two coats of Peacekeeper. It had enough glitter dispersal on the first coat but I wanted it to be more opaque. It was a little thick but I didn't have trouble applying it. I used one coat of my Orly top coat to make it smooth.

Before I was asked to review these polishes, Peacekeeper was actually the one I wanted the most. I'm so glad it didn't disappoint! It's beautiful and I totally recommend it.. Windestine Kizuna Swatch & Review!

I finally have some free time to post and today I have the second polish from the Windestine Little Women collection that I was sent to review. Here is Kizuna!

Kizuna's description from the Windestine Etsy page:

Kizuna consists of purple, green, and copper glitter in a brown crelly base. This polish was inspired by the strong family bond that is represented in the book Little Women. Like roots in the ground, each family member supports and helps each other grow. 'Kizuna' means 'bond' in Japanese, which is why I chose this name.

Kizuna is gorgeous! I admit that I'm not a huge fan of brown polishes, but I am loving this one. The green and purple glitter in the brown base makes it a winner in my eyes. It stands out because of it, which is always a good thing to me. I can't recall anything like it. On Windestine's Etsy page, Kizuna is shown at three coats. I however, wanted to layer it. I don't have a true brown polish in my collection. The closest I could find was China Glaze Ingrid, which isn't very dark, but it worked! I used two coats of Ingrid and one coat of Kizuna. It wasn't too thick or thin, and I had no trouble applying it. It didn't dry gritty, so I only needed one coat of my Orly top coat.

Windestine Heartbeat Swatch & Review!

Las Vegas was fun, but I'm happy to be back so that I can post. I'm very excited to share this post I have for you today! I was asked about two weeks ago if I wanted to review some polishes from the new Windestine collection inspired by Little Women. I don't remember if I've read the book, but I definitely remember the movie. It was one of my favorites growing up. I had such a big crush on Laurie, played by Christian Bale. Anyway, this marks the first time I've been asked to do a review for an indie brand, or any brand for that matter. I was sent three of the polishes from the collection to review and today I have the first one to show you. Without further ado, here is Heartbeat!

Heartbeat is a purple crelly that has purple, magenta, and copper glitter. According to the description, Heartbeat is inspired by Beth of Little Women. It is so gorgeous!! Purple is one of my favorite colors and this one is fabulous. The shimmer is without a doubt the best part of this polish. It adds a beautiful glow. Unfortunately, I had a hard time capturing just how awesome it is. It's so much better in person. For swatches, I layered one coat of Heartbeat over two coats of China Glaze Grape Pop, which I think makes a great base. I have no doubts that it would look beautiful worn by itself. Formula wise, Heartbeat was fantastic. It wasn't too thick or thin and the application was smooth and trouble free. I topped it off with one coat of my Orly topcoat.

I'm very impressed with Heartbeat! It's such a gorgeous color. The other two I have are just as pretty and I can't wait to show you swatches of them. Head on over to Windestine if you love this color and want to purchase it for yourself!

Windestine Crushed Rose In Spring

It's been far too long since I last painted my nails. Sometimes I go through phases where I either get burned out on it or I'm just too busy. Lately it's the latter because of work and my new puppy Carter, who is already getting so big! He was 4 pounds when I got him, he's now 10. I really missed painting my nails though, so today I have another indie for you. The last polish I posted was Windestine Senescence, and I'm now showing you Windestine Crushed Rose In Spring, from the 2013 Spring Collection.

Crushed Rose In Spring looks just like that, a crushed up rose in a bottle. The base is a light dusty green jelly and there are pink, yellow, and white matte glitters in various sizes. I love the inspiration behind it and I think it was perfectly executed. It was sheer on the first coat, which is expected with a jelly, but it was fine by the third. It would probably look great layered. It was a little bumpy after drying, but one coat of Gelous got rid of that. Please try to ignore the chip on my middle finger nail. I'm so annoyed with it. It happened hours after application, but I'm not blaming the polish. It was most likely due to my carelessness.

I'm so glad I got Crushed Rose In Spring! It's not only beautiful, but I love that the inspiration behind it isn't hard to see. It totally reminds me of a rose. Windestine Senescence

I have a lot of indies that I need to start wearing, so today I have one of them! It's Windestine Senescence, which I got as a freebie for ordering 2 or more polishes.

Senescence is a dark olive green base with copper shimmer and subtle holo sparkle. I wasn't sure what free polish I was going to get but I'm happy to say that I'm completely thrilled with this one! It's such a beautiful color. The shimmer is amazing. It's also unique to my collection. Formula wise, I was impressed. It was easy to apply and I only needed two coats, plus a coat of top coat.

This is the first polish I've worn from my Windestine order and I'm completely happy with it and the brand. It doesn't look like Senescence is being sold in the Etsy shop. It's probably a discontinued color from a previous collection, but who knows, you might get lucky and end up with it in your order!
