Hit Polish Beltane Blues

I had every intention of posting this about three weeks ago but my nephew Casey came into the world around the same time! He is absolutely precious and I just love that I get to be an auntie all over again.

The polish I have today is another from one of my favorite indie brands, Hit Polish. It's called Beltane Blues. It was among one of the first polishes I bought when the brand returned to making polish a few months ago. At first I was going to wear something completely different but I'm very happy I went with Beltane Blues instead.

Beltane Blues is a blue jelly loaded with copper, orange, royal blue, gold, and iridescent glitters. It's such a beauty, especially when you first see it in the bottle. I just want to swim among the gorgeous glitters. Beltane Blues can be worn on its own but I'm guessing it would take 2-3 coats to be opaque. I chose to wear it over Sinful Colors Break Away from the Sinful Shine line. Such an amazing creme at just one coat! Color wise they're not an absolute perfect match but it didn't matter because the combination took my breath away! I even tested it a over a lighter blue and it still looked great. I love when a polish is versatile. I had no problems whatsoever with the application of Beltane Blues. What you see is one coat of it and one coat of Rica Glossy Glam applied on top for a smooth finish.

I could not be happier with Beltane Blues! It's so gorgeous! I already have two mini bottles of it, so I probably don't need a full size of it, but I've been tempted several times. It's one of those polishes that I couldn't stop staring at while I had it on.

Sinful Colors Sweet Nothing

Lately, I've been crazy about Sinful Colors cremes. For the most part they have great formulas and they're incredibly affordable at just $1.99 a bottle. Sometimes I'm wary about spending $9 on a creme because I could end up not liking the color or the formula might not be great. I've added so many of their cremes to my stash over the past few months and now I finally have a better range of undies for my large glitter collection. Today I'm going to be showing you one that I recently bought at my local Big Lots. Here is Sweet Nothing.

Sweet Nothing is such a pretty shade of blue. It's on the turquoise side, but not as green. It's not totally unique but in my collection it is. It's pretty much perfect. The formula was nothing short of amazing. It was creamy and applied like butter. It had great coverage on just the first coat alone but a second was needed due to some bare spots. Still, two coats is pretty impressive. It was pretty shiny on its own but I did use some top coat because I woke up the next morning with slight sheet marks. No biggie though!

I'm in love with this polish. Because the Sugar Rush collection was limited edition, I don't think you can still find it at Walgreens but if you have a local Big Lots, it's worth checking out!

Pahlish Train Underwater

Lately, I can't stop buying from blog sales! When you see something you want, it's too tempting to resist. That was what happened when I came across a bottle of Pahlish Train Underwater, my top lemming from the brand.

Train Underwater is a navy blue jelly with turquoise hex, red, pink, purple, and gold micro glitter, and holographic teal micro-glitter. It's stunning, in the bottle and on my nails! It all works perfectly together. I am really, really loving it. On top of that, it was also really easy to apply. Despite being a jelly it had nice coverage on the first coat alone. It was opaque at two coats but I added a third just to be safe. It dried relatively smooth, but I still needed two coats of top coat to get it glassy smooth.

I'm so happy with Train Underwater! If you've never tried Pahlish before, I highly recommend getting this one on your first purchase! It's one of their classics that is popular for a reason.

Hit Polish Mr. Bubbles

As a kid, I loved bubble baths! I grew up using Mr. Bubble products. I remember I even had a Mr. Bubble book and the character of the book was specially named after me! So naturally, I had to have Hit Polish Mr. Bubbles! I had been wanting it for some time but only recently got it in my first order from Hit Polish. Here it is!

Mr. Bubbles colors consist of medium sized pink and blue hexes, small white, blue, and pink hexes, and pink and blue squares. All of the glitters are matte. The color combination is simple but amazing! I LOVE it, it's so cute. I layered it over two coats of Essie Coat Azure. It was the best blue I had for layering. I think it makes for a great base but it is a little hard to see the blue glitters in my pics. They pop off the nail more in person. I think it would look pretty great over pink, white, and maybe even black. My pictures were taken in my room, which doesn't have the best lighting, so these are a little washed out. The pink for example is much more vibrant in person. Formula wise, it was fantastic. What you see is just one coat! I shouldn't be surprised as the other two that I've worn from Hit Polish had great formulas.

So not only is Mr. Bubbles special to me for nostalgic reasons, it's just a straight up cute glitter! I'm really happy to have it in my collection. I will definitely play around with it and try it over other bases.

OPI Tiffany Case

I'm so happy it's the weekend! We had inventory this week at work, so it was busy. I'm definitely going to enjoy my days off. Yesterday, I wanted to wear a polish that was easy to apply, fast drying, and pretty much hassle free. I ended up choosing OPI Tiffany Case.

Tiffany Case is a Liquid Sand from the Bond Girls collection earlier this year. It's an icy, metallic blue, with small silver glitters. I really like it, it's quite pretty. It's gorgeous in the shade but in the sun, it's so sparkly! The formula had to be the best part. It was so easy to apply. What I'm wearing in pictures is just one coat! Unfortunately, I've read other reviews that say it stains and I'm not looking forward to that. I hope it's not too bad.

Despite the possibility of it staining, I'm really happy with Tiffany Case! It's a gorgeous color and it's super easy to apply. What more can you ask for? I have one more Liquid Sand that I haven't worn but should soon. There's a few others I have on my wishlist.

Color Club Halo Hue Blue Heaven

Today is a special day in my house. It's my niece's 6th birthday! Were all going to the beach to celebrate and on Saturday she's having a pool party. I spent most of yesterday shopping with my mom. We went to TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Burlington Coat Factory, and Sephora. Let's just say that I came home with 19 new beauties for my stash and a sad wallet. My most exciting find were the four Color Club Halo Hues, that I found right away upon walking into Burlington Coat Factory. I snatched them up as fast as I could and was even happier when I found out that they were only $3.98 a piece! It was fate that I found them because now I have a holo to wear at the beach. Today I have Blue Heaven, the blue linear holographic of the collection.

Blue Heaven is a true holographic polish. There is nothing shy about it and I love that. I haven't been particularly blown away by most of the holos in my stash, but this one is a different story. It is absolutely stunning! Even though I got it on sale, I would not have hesitated paying full price. It's totally worth it in my opinion. The formula was also outstanding. It was thin but easy to apply. It was opaque at two coats, but I used a third out of habit.

I can't believe I waited this long to get a Color Club Halo Hue, but at the same time, the wait was worth it! It's always a nice feeling when you get something you've wanted for a long time, for a steal. If you live near by a Burlington Coat Factory, go in and take a look! You might be surprised by what you find.

KBShimmer Watercolor

Today I have KBShimmer Watercolor, another indie that I got for Christmas and I'm finally now just taking the time to wear it. It was the first polish I ever wanted from the brand and it sure didn't disappoint!

Watercolor is so gorgeous! It has so much going on. It's a blue neon base packed with beautiful glitter. There are two purple glitters in different sizes, large royal blue hex, pink holographic hex, and magenta hex glitters, and also micro pink and silver holographic glitters. The inspiration behind is a watercolor painting with pink, purples, and blues. I just love how colorful it is! It pops off the nail. I loved the formula. It was easy to work with and was opaque in three coats, all of which dried fairly fast. I just bought Gelous as a top coat the other day and I love it! I only needed two coats to make it smooth, whereas my other would have needed a bunch of coats.

I'm in love with Watercolor! It's gorgeous and super unique. I totally recommend this polish to anyone who is interested in purchasing from KBShimmer. But then again, all of their polishes are gorgeous so you really can't go wrong with your choice!

China Glaze Strap On Your Moonboots

I've made some tiny changes to my blog. The font for my titles/gadgets is different and as you can see at the top of my blog, there is a new picture collage, featuring random manis of mine, that I made. It's a little blurry, but I think it turned out okay. Oh, and I'm three posts away from my 100th! To celebrate, I have some gorgeous polishes coming up. They're all going to be holos! I recently got three from the new China Glaze Hologlam collection and today I have my first pick, Strap On Your Moonboots!

It is a dark midnight blue, but it still maintains a gorgeous holo effect. It seems like this one, along with the other darker ones in the collection have the strongest holo. It's not as strong as the OMG or Color Club holos, but it is stronger than the Tronica polishes. I love it.

Unlike some holos, this one was thick and creamy. It was relatively easy to apply and each coat leveled out quite nicely. Patchiness wasn't that much of a problem, although it would start to happen if I went over a spot once or twice. I didn't use a special base coat, just my typical China Glaze Strong Adhesion base coat and no top coat was used.

I love Strap On Your Moonboots, I'm so glad I got it! I can't stop staring at my nails when I'm outside. I definitely recommend this one from the collection.

China Glaze Fancy Pants

I didn't plan on getting anything from the China Glaze Avant Garden collection. It's not that the colors aren't beautiful, they are, and I definitely could use some pastels in my collection, but I didn't feel like I absolutely needed any of them. Then, I saw Fancy Pants in person and I had to get it!

Fancy Pants is kind of complex. Is it purple, is it blue? Sometimes it looks more purple to me, but it definitely leans blue. It looks different in certain lighting. I must say this polish is insanely gorgeous! The pinky purple shimmer really takes it to the next level. I had some trouble capturing it in photos, so trust me when I say this, it is much better in person.

The formula was awesome. It was buttery and easy to apply. I only needed two coats for opacity. There was hardly any clean up either, which was an added bonus.

Fancy Pants is a must have from the Avant Garden collection in my opinion! This might be one of my favorite China Glaze polishes so far this year.

China Glaze Water You Waiting For

My nails were growing back quite fast but I'm back to nubs again. Sadly, my index nail broke while at work and the rest is history. Today on my nubs is China Glaze Water You Waiting For from the Cirque Du Soleil: Worlds Away collection. I regretted not picking it up at first it but recently I was able to find it for a $1.99!

Water You Waiting For is a deep blue jelly base with blue, green, and purple glitter. It is absolutely gorgeous! I love the depth it has. This is now one of my favorite glitters in my collection. I'm sure most of you know by now that it is similar to NOPI Kendall On the Katwalk, which I have been wanting, but I don't feel the need for it now.

It was a little thick and kind of "dry" when applying, if that makes sense, but it was still easy to work with. I used two coats, but a third probably wouldn't have hurt. I only used one coat of top coat, but I should have added a second.

Water You Waiting For is amazing! I'm so glad I was able to add it to my collection. I can't resist a gorgeous blue like this one, especially when in glitter form.

Hard Candy Sweet Tooth & Pixie Pink

Today I have the last group of my Hard Candy Candy Sprinkles polishes to show you! They are Sweet Tooth and Pixie Pink, the most girly shades of the bunch.

Sweet Tooth is a Nails Inc Sweets Way dupe. It is a milky white base with pink, white, and blue glitter. It was the most sheer out of the others, but I don't care, I love it! Aside from Gummy Green, it is my favorite from the collection. Pixie Pink has the same colored glitter in it as Sweet Tooth, but instead it's in a light milky pink base. I like it, it's pretty.

Formula wise, they were as good as the others. Easy to apply and fast drying. Since Sweet Tooth was more sheer, I used three coats. I only used two for Pixie Pink.

So that's all of the Candy Sprinkles polishes that I have for you! I love them and I highly recommend them.

Hard Candy Sugar Rush & Jelly Bean Blue

Today I have more of the Hard Candy Candy Sprinkles polishes to share! This time the colors I paired together are Sugar Rush and Jelly Bean Blue.

Sugar Rush is a white polish packed with black and silver glitter. It totally reminds me of Cookies & Cream ice cream. Jelly Bean Blue is a light blue base with blue and black glitter. I love both of them!

As with the two other polishes from the Candy Sprinkles line that I've worn, these ones were easy to apply, fast drying, and I was able to reach opacity in just two coats. I only needed two coats of top coat to make them smooth.

I have yet to be disappointed with the Candy Sprinkles polishes! If you want them for yourself, all 9 shades are available at Walmart and retail for around $4.

Sinful Colors Neptune

When Sinful Colors put out their Cast Away collection this year, I was excited. It was nice to see new colors since most of their "collections" re-promote their core line. I ended up getting Zeus and the one I'm showing today, Neptune.

Neptune is a denim blue packed with gorgeous silver fleck like shimmer. I really, really love it. It's beautiful and has definitely become a favorite blue.

The formula was so awesome. It applied easily and only two coats were needed for opacity. It has great quality and you don't have to break the bank for it, which I love. Literally the only downside was the clean up which took some extra time since it's so saturated.

I'm very satisfied with Neptune! It's a fantastic blue that doesn't disappoint one bit.

Icing Hey Sailor Boy

I feel so bad for neglecting my blog. I've been on an unexpected hiatus because of personal issues but things are better now. I do miss blogging. For my first post back I have Icing Hey Sailor Boy to show you.

Hey Sailor Boy consists of blue and green hexes and small blue glitter in a dark blue base. It looks similar to the popular Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe, but they're not exact dupes of each other. HSB seems to be more dense and not as dark.

Instead of layering it, I wear it alone. This is three coats. All of them dried fairly fast. It was really easy to work with, not too thin or thick. Clean up was the hardest part because of all of the glitter.

I love Hey Sailor Boy. I really want Across the Universe, but this one is satisfying my lemming for now. If you have an Icing store near you, I definitely recommend it.

Icing I Like the Nightlife

I wanted to post this earlier, but I've been so busy. My 5 year old niece, who is like a daughter to me, started Kindergarten on Wednesday, I went to a water park later in the day, I was in the car with my family all day yesterday and visited my newborn cousin. Today I can finally show I Like the Nightlife, another Icing beauty that I recently picked up while at the mall.

It's a unique blue with purple pink glitter/shimmer and it's so pretty! Unfortunately it was hard to capture when taking pictures. It's much more noticeable in person.

It chipped which is annoying. I also didn't realize my cuticles were dry, sorry.

 
The formula was okay. Due to the glitter, it would sometimes get a little chunky during application, especially if I didn't work fast enough with it. It was easy to work with for the most part though. It was very sheer on the first coat, but it was fine on the third. I recommend top coat with it, it's much better with it.

I really love seeing unique polishes like I Like Nightlife and not having to pay big money for it either. Blue lovers, this one is for you!

Sinful Colors Rise and Shine

Today I have Sinful Colors Rise and Shine. After putting it on, I remembered the drama surrounding the brand a few weeks ago. I don't condone what they did, but I'm glad that they apologized and owned up to their mistake. Regardless of what happened, I still love them. I've had Rise and Shine for a while, but never took the time to wear. I'm so glad I finally did!

 
It's a blue/green teal polish with fine silver shimmer. It's really bright and vivid, but it's not a neon. It goes on creamy but it dries with a satiny, matte finish. It was kind of hard to photograph correctly. It's not exactly color accurate. It's darker and more vibrant in person.

It was super easy to work with and it was nearly opaque in one coat, but a second was needed. The drying time was some what fast. As pretty as it was as a matte, it's so much better with top coat!

I absolutely love Rise and Shine! I think it's a must need from Sinful Colors.

Essie Coat Azure

I actually only own one Essie polish and it's Coat Azure from the A French Affair collection from last spring. It's a sky blue that is a little darker than most and it's packed with silver shimmer.

I'm planning to use it as a base for a glitter that I'll be wearing soon, but it was just too pretty not to show by itself. I absolutely adore it! It's perfect for summer. The shimmer is gorgeous as well and it makes it that much more special.

I had no problems with it. It had good coverage on the first coat, albeit a tad streaky, but a second was perfect. The drying time wasn't too bad either. I hardly had any clean up at all, which is awesome.

I'm so glad I have Coat Azure! It's not only beautiful, but easy to work with. Now I need to work on getting more Essie's in my stash!

OPI Swimsuit...Nailed It!

I can easily say that the polish I'm showing you today, is my favorite blue ever and it's only my first time wearing it! It's OPI Swimsuit...Nailed It! the super rich, dark blue foil from the 2011 Miss Universe collection. It's the only one I picked up from the collection and I'm so glad I got it when I had the chance.

In the bottle alone it glows and is super vibrant. It doesn't lose any of that on the nails! It completely translates, but it's even better, I think. I love that it's dark but it's still a vibrant foil without being too silvery. I was also amazed at how it shined and glowed before top coat (picture below). BTW, it's a tad washed out in my pictures. It's much darker and vibrant in person.

The formula is so amazing! I was aware of its great opacity before using it, but I wanted to see for myself and it so didn't disappoint. It's easily a one coater! If my first coat was a teeny bit thicker, I would have been good, but even so, I had hardly any bald spots. I just used a second to be safe. Application was so easy and it dried fast. It couldn't have been any better. I just hope it won't stain too bad!

I'm so so so happy with this blue! I'm in love. It's a definite keeper. Do not hesitate in getting this one if you see it!
