Hit Polish Egyptian Goddess

I really really wanted to paint my nails for New Year's. I even bought some indies that were especially perfect for the occasion. But, I finally just got good pictures of my current mani and I didn't feel right taking it off before I did. I wanted to get this post out quickly before midnight. So here is Hit Polish, the last polish I'll be wearing in 2013!

Egyptian Goddess is a nude crelly with blue hexagons, blue shreds, and gold hexagons, all in various sizes. It also has subtle golden shimmer. It is a beauty! It's exactly my kind of polish. It reminds me of the beach. It was really easy to apply and was pretty opaque by the second coat, but I might use a third the next time I wear it. I used my new nail polish dryer from Sally Beauty that I got for Christmas. I think it definitely made a difference in dry time.

Unfortunately, Egyptian Goddess was introduced during a recent restock but has since sold out. The shop is only a week and a few days from closing indefinitely, so there's only so many polishes left in stock and they won't be having anymore restocks. I'm sorry! If you want something like it, I'd try Happy Hands Sandcastles In The Sand. I have that one, but have never worn it, but I think they are pretty similar.

And just because I haven't posted much pictures lately, here's an update on my pup Carter. Look at how big he has gotten! He's now 8 months. I haven't weighed him in about a month and I probably couldn't even lift him if I tried, but he was around 52 pounds last time.

And here he is playing with his big sister Dakota, who is almost three years old.

That picture reminds me of this one I took when they first played together. He was so tiny then.

Okay, I'm done reminiscing. I hope you're having a wonderful New Year's. I'll be honest, 2013 hasn't been the greatest of years but in many ways, it was so much better than the last. I can't wait to see what happens in 2014.

My 13 Favorite Manis of 2013!

I've been off from work for a couple of days, which is nice, because I can finally take time to relax. The holiday hours were starting to wear me out. I'm actually sick right now with a cold, but I'm feeling a little better. I painted my nails a few days ago and have been meaning to post it, but I haven't been able to take decent pictures. Anyway, it's New Year's Eve and because of that I threw together a post of 13 of my favorite manis in 2013. Here they are!

1. OPI Sparrow Me The Drama & Revlon Girly

2. China Glaze Elephant Walk & KBShimmer Elle

3. KBShimmer Don't Teal Anyone

4. All That Glitters I'm Sprung

5. Windestine Peacekeeper

6. China Glaze Grape Pop & Hit Polish Represent

7. Essie Coat Azure & Hit Polish Mr. Bubble

8. China Glaze It's Alive & China Glaze Graffiti Glitter

9. Pahlish Train Underwater & Candy Lacquer Candy Dots

10. Pahlish Lady Of Raynham Hall & Hit Polish Jack Loves Sally

11. China Glaze Recycle & Different Dimension Have The Lambs Stopped Screaming?

12. China Glaze Recycle & Red Dog Designs M-I-C-K-E-Y

13. OPI All Sparkly And Gold & Hit Polish Holiday Cheer

As you can see I love glitter and my nails went through a lot of different lengths. I would have had more favorites had I actually been able to wear many more of my polishes. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy your New Year's Eve and stay safe, whatever you plan to do!

Pop Culture Cosmetics Christmas Eve

It's Christmas! Merry Christmas to those that are celebrating. I just plan on staying home with my family, opening gifts, eating good food, and watching some holiday movies. I had planned to do my nails for Christmas, but I didn't find any spare time, so here is the mani that I wore for Christmas eve.

This is Pop Culture Cosmetics Christmas Eve. I chose to wear it for obvious reasons. I saw a swatch of it many few weeks ago and ever since then, I wanted it for myself. I'm glad I bought it because it's gorgeous! It's a pretty mix of glitters in Christmas colors. There are green and red circles, gold and silver hexes, super tiny glitters in various colors, and even cute stars, holographic silver bells, and red hearts! The silver bells are probably my favorite. This was my first time wearing a polish that has them.

What you see is just one coat! It was easy to apply and I had no trouble whatsoever getting any of the bigger glitters on the brush. The base I used was two coats of Sinful Colors Last Chance, which is actually mislabeled as Calypso. I've been on the lookout for a cheap dark green and this one is perfect, I love it.

I love this polish, it's perfect for the holiday season. I hope you have a great day, whatever it is you plan to do!

OPI All Sparkly And Gold & Hit Polish Holiday Cheer

I've been working about 6 days straight and today is my first day off. I'm going to dinner with my family later tonight and after were going to drive around to see some Christmas lights. I actually work tomorrow morning from 1-9 am, so I'm going to enjoy my time off while I can. Today I have a really fun Christmas mani for you!

First off, here is my base, OPI All Sparkly and Gold, which is an antique darkened gold glitter in a clear base. At first I wasn't going to buy it but the more I saw swatches, the more I wanted it. I'm glad I bought it because it's a beauty. I used two coats.

Now here are two coats of Hit Polish Holiday Cheer layered on top. It is Christmas in a bottle! There are small silver and gold circle glitters, larger red and green circle glitters, small green and silver white bar glitters, small gold squares, and green, white, and red hexagons. Some of the pieces are even holographic. It was super easy to apply and had amazing glitter coverage.

I absolutely LOVE this glitter. It is my favorite Christmas mani to date. It held up really well too. I had no chips, just some fading around the tips.

Sadly, Holiday Cheer is no longer available. Here's some more sad news. Hit Polish is actually closing their shop indefinitely and everything is being sold at discounted prices. I will really miss their polishes, as they have become one of my favorite indie brands. I'm so glad I was able to buy their beautiful polishes while I could.

For those interested, here is the link to their shop. They will be closing for good on January 10th, so if you see anything you want, now is the time to get it.

Red Dog Designs M-I-C-K-E-Y

Long time, no posts. I'm sorry about that. My hours have increased during the holiday season, so I've been working a lot lately. I also kind of got a little burned out on posting, but I missed it, so here I am! My Thanksgiving was laid back and quiet. I had to work Black Friday from 3-11 in the morning, which was crazy. The next day I went to Disneyland with my mom, my six year old niece, and some family friends. It's one of my absolute favorite places that I've been going to since I was a toddler, but the last time I went was three or so years ago. My niece was three the last time and this time she was tall enough for the "big kid" rides. We got to go to both parks and it was such a busy day, that we didn't get to do everything we wanted, but I still had a really great time. Anyway, here is my really cute mani that I wore for the day!

This is Red Dog Designs M-I-C-K-E-Y, which is one of the cutest polishes I own. The colors are inspired by Mickey. It has yellow, red, and white hexes, silver holo Mickey glitters, and a gorgeous subtle holo sparkle. It's one of the first Mickey glitter polishes I have worn so far and I'm in love with it. I splurged and bought all but one color from the collection. I love anything to do with Disney, so I honestly couldn't help myself.

Formula wise, it was a little thick. I had to do a little fishing for the Mickey glitters, but it wasn't hard to do. I do wish I had gotten more yellow glitter out, but overall, I'm really happy with this polish. It's just so darn cute. If you're a Disney lover, I highly suggest checking out this collection.

Now here are some pictures I took at Disneyland! As you'll see, all of them are at night time. I wish I had taken more, especially during the day, but most of the time we were waiting in lines.

Here's the Sleeping Beauty Castle which is so gorgeous at night. The rest were taken during the World of Color water show at California Adventure. It was my first time seeing it and it was honestly amazing.

I also took a lot of photos during the Aladdin Musical Spectacular play, but they didn't come out so great, so I chose not to post them. We actually got to meet the cast after the show, which was awesome, especially for the little ones. My niece was so happy to get autographs and pictures taken with Princess Jasmine, Aladdin, and The Genie.

I'm going to be working a lot during Christmas week, so I don't know if I'll have a lot of free time to do my nails, but thankfully, I have a few posts ready to go. Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Pahlish Mystery Polish: Like Autumn Leaves

For those of you that don't already know, the indie brand Pahlish now offers mystery polishes. They consist of test colors, prototypes, colors that never got released, and "oops" batches. They are pretty affordable at only $6 a bottle (previously $5). I've only ordered two and today I have the first one for you. Since these are mystery polishes, they have no names and therefore you can name them anything you want, which is always fun. Anyway, here is mine: Like Autumn Leaves.

I named this Like Autumn Leaves because the color screams fall to me and makes me think of the colors leaves turn when fall arrives. The name also comes from an Ed Sheeran song called Autumn Leaves. I love his music, so it was only fitting. It's a beige base that has the prettiest pink shimmer, red coppery micro-flakies, and orange and yellow glitter. I'll be honest, it's not exactly a me color but I really do like it. It's pretty and unlike anything I own or have ever seen. The shimmer is my favorite part about this polish. It's shy in pictures but totally visible in person. I also really love the flakies. Formula wise, it was great. I had no problems with application. I only used two coats and two coats of top coat.

I'm happy to have this mystery Pahlish, Like Autumn Leaves. It's not only perfect for Fall but it will make a nice palette cleanser when I'm in the need of one. I think these mystery polishes are such a cool idea and totally worth the money. The other one I have is super pretty, I can't wait to wear it.

Candy Lacquer Pastel Confetti

Lately, I've been buying a lot of my Candy Lacquer polishes from blog sales. I can't help it, I just love their glitters. The majority of them are colors that are no longer being made. For today's post, I have a really pretty one. Here's Pastel Confetti.

Pastel Confetti is a mix of pastel colored glitters in squares and hexagons in both small and large shapes. The colors are pink, blue, green, purple, and white. I really love it, it's so cute! I like the soft, girly look of it. It has an Easter vibe to it in my opinion. I layered it over Hit Polish Periwinkle Blues, which I thought was a great base. They really do compliment each other. What you see are two kind of thick but easy coats. I got a lot of glitter coverage on the first coat, but I used a second to cover up some bare spots. It dried relatively smooth so I only needed one thick coat of top coat.

I'm happy to have Pastel Confetti in my collection. It's not only unique but it's super pretty. I can't wait to wear the rest of my Candy Lacquer polishes. They're actually releasing their new Winter collection this Friday and I can't wait!

Hit Polish Periwinkle Blues

I feel like I haven't posted in a while, sorry about that! My nails pretty much got ruined while camping and as a result, they became nubs. I wasn't quite ready to show them off but now I really don't mind them. Anyway, today I have a really pretty polish to show you. Here's Hit Polish Periwinkle Blues!

Periwinkle Blues is a periwinkle, light purple crelly that has gold circle glitter, fuchsia circle glitter, light pink circle glitter, gold hexagons, and tiny glitters in gold, pink, and purple. Some of the glitters are even holographic. I adore this mix, it's super pretty and everything works great together. I just love how soft it looks. Formula wise, Periwinkle Blues was great. It was a tad sheer on the first coat but it built up nicely in three coats. I had zero problems with application. It didn't dry very gritty, but I used two coats of top coat to make it completely smooth.

Periwinkle Blues is now discontinued from the brand, which is the same for the rest of my Hit Polish collection, but thanks to a listing where you can purchase discontinued polishes from their past line up, you can easily add this beauty to your collection. I'll be wearing a lot of my Hit Polishes in the near future, so maybe you'll find something you'll want. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Different Dimension Have The Lambs Stopped Screaming?

Happy Halloween to those that are celebrating! Honestly, Halloween isn't my favorite holiday. I guess it's mostly because I'm not a huge fan of the scary, horror aspect of it. But there is one thing I love to do on Halloween and it might sound weird, but camping! I'm getting ready to leave today to go beach camping with my family and I won't be back until Sunday. I camped on Halloween for the first time two years ago and it was the best time. People get really into it and decorate their campsites and kids even go Trick or Treating when it gets dark. I'm excited to get away for a few days. I of course made time to do my nails before I leave. For my Halloween mani, I'm wearing Different Dimension Have The Lambs stopped screaming?.

Have The Lambs Stopped Screaming? is Halloween in a bottle. It's a combination of many types of glitters in various shapes and sizes, including stars, hearts, circles, hexagons, and squares, in black, orange, yellow, and white. There's even a super pretty subtle holographic sparkle in the base. Despite the name that kind of freaks me out, only because horror movies aren't really my thing, I knew I had to have it. It's an awesome polish! I got a lot of great glitter coverage in just one coat. It was a little thick but it applied easily. I used one coat of Gelous and one coat of my Orly top coat to make it smooth. For my base I used two coats of China Glaze Recycle, which is now my new favorite gray. It was not only super easy to apply, but I had close to no clean up. I love when that happens.

I'm so glad I got Have The Lambs Stopped Screaming? for Halloween. It's such a pretty polish. I actually didn't get around to wearing two other Halloween polishes that I recently bought, but that's okay. Whatever your plans are for Halloween, I hope you have fun!

Hit Polish Jack Loves Sally

Hey guys! I hope you're enjoying your weekend so far. I actually have to work today and unfortunately I won't be home until late tonight. Before that, I have yet another Halloween themed polish for you! This time it's Hit Polish Jack Loves Sally.

Jack Loves Sally is without a doubt the cutest Halloween polish in my collection. It is based off the characters Jack Skellington and Sally from the popular Tim Burton movie, A Nightmare Before Christmas. I've seen this movie so many times and I make sure to watch it every year when it's on during the Halloween season. Basically the polish is comprised of Jack and Sally's colors. There's white hexagons, greyish hexagons, and black bar glitter for Jack and yellow square glitter, bright blue square glitter, purple hexagons, small yellow hexagons, small red orange hexagons and teeny tiny blue and purple glitter for Sally. I think the combination of all of the glitters together is absolutely perfect. There's a lot going on but it all works together quite nicely.

Formula wise, it was pretty good. It was a little thick but that is to be expected with a polish that is this glitter packed. Unfortunately, I should have applied much thinner coats than what I did because it took a while to dry and I ended up messing up a few of my nails. It was my fault, not the polish, so I'll just be more careful next time. I used two coats over Pahlish Lady of Raynham Hall and two coats of top coat.

So do you love Jack Loves Sally as much as I do? It's such a cute polish. As of right now, it's actually out of stock and discontinued from the brand. However, from what I understand, Rachel (creator of Hit Polish) will have a custom listing on her Etsy shop that will allow customers to buy discontinued polishes. There's also a new lineup of polishes being introduced today as well.
