If you're all about indies but you've never heard about Hit Polish, previously known as D&R Apothecary, you should do yourself the favor and check them out! They have so many colors to choose from, everything from jellies to shimmers, and glitter galore. You can even create your own custom polish. Rachel, the owner, recently had a sale to celebrate her 35th birthday. Everything was 35% off! I made a small purchase a few weeks before this, so I couldn't resist coming back and taking part in it. I made two orders during the sale and even though my wallet may be sad, I couldn't be happier. Today I have one of them to show you! It happens to be one of my favorites. Here is Represent!
As you can see, Represent is a glitter bomb! As described on their Etsy shop, Represent has "large; silver, gray, black, orange, pink, blue; holographic, matte and metallic finish in hex, square and star shapes." It was inspired by Rachel's family. How cute is that? I LOVE Represent. It is not only stunning in the bottle but on the nails as well. The glitter mix is gorgeous and the holographic sparkle is so beautiful. It takes it to the next level. I didn't get any black stars, but I actually like the way it looks without them. I was going to layer it over a white creme, but I went with China Glaze Grape Pop instead. I love the way it turned out. I will be trying it over white next time. Formula wise, it is perfect. What you see is just one coat over two coats of Grape Pop. No fishing, no dabbing. I'm impressed! For a glitter, it dried incredibly smooth, so I just needed one coat of top coat.
P.S. The small chip on my index finger is my fault, not the polishes I used. I shouldn't have waited so long before putting on top coat. Imagine how annoyed I was when I saw it.
I almost didn't get Represent, but I'm so so glad I did! It is crazy beautiful. Because of the sale, I have so many polishes of theirs that I can't wait to wear. It's safe to say that Hit Polish has now become one of my favorite indie brands. Now you should go take a look for yourself and find some pretties to get for yourself! There are always awesome sales going on.
